Complaints about illegal fishing were published in the La Paz Paper

I noted this was posted on another forum:

Observatorio Ciudadano’s complaints have been presented to the people in La Paz on the local newspaper, requesting action from authorities against illegal fishing activities.

Plataforma attorneys have been working on lawsuits for all the illegal activities filled on the complaints report and will track them all until they are solved.

While I don't read Spanish yet, these are issues I have been and will continue to write about. Thanks for the heads up.

In receent weeks I have've written about the "kill" tournies on the mainland, and and am working with the guy doing the dodo documentations. If you have not seen the YouTubes of the comerciall take, it's worth 15 minues of your time. There are 3.

El Oro de Cortez is a documentary about illegal fishing in the Sea of Cortez. Interviews with government officials, scientists and fisherman prove that huge amounts, thousands of tons, of Dorado are illegally being exported to the United States each year from the port city of Guaymas, Sonora Mexico. Also exposed in these documentaries are the tremendous number of marine turtles that are shipped to the black market each year as a bu-catch of the illegal fishing of Dorado.

Great info - thanks for posting gnukid. Adding to your links, here is the direct link to article and info on the Vigilance Program -

http://seawatch.org/en/Vigilance-Program/333/mexicos-first-c...

This is the SeaWatch 'portal' site about the program for now - has related links and a new side-bar feature I just saw for the first time (very cool) that has info and links to all related stories.

If you can´t donate financially - please at least click on the page, read the info and possibly submit a comment to Mike with your thoughts and ideas. I know he appreciates it. You can go to the homepage and simply enter your email address into the newsletter box on right side to sign-up and become one of the thousands of Sea Watch supporters, another easy way to show your support for all the great work going on.

I helped out a short time with Sea Watch and I can assure you they (Mike especially) work overtime solely for the purpose of getting illegal & destructive practices stopped in La Paz bay and the Sea of Cortez so that the natural beauty and abundance can return and be enjoyed by all.

Every cent donated goes towards programs funded by Sea Watch.

It is a cause - and Baja organization - very worthy of your support. Vist the website, sign-up for the newsletter. Be a part of the solution.

Cheers, Molly
