I am shocked, SCHOCKED, that you gentlemen would think this is the sort of thing I was looking for. Then again, I suppose it isan opportunity to continue the tireless and selfless work I have begun in Tijuana; teaching English and helping to advance the economy along Calle Coahuila.

As I do consider myself to be an ambassador of sorts when visiting foreign soil and do feel a certain obligation to contribute whatever I can to help advance those less fortunate than mself, I suppose I could manage to carve out a little time from my (now) camping/ fishing/ sightseeing trip to do whatever I can for the local population.

This is what is so great about the internet, a place where people can come together to share their knowledge of such opportunities to provide service and contribute to the cultural exchange that is so important for the future of world peace.

Thank you gentlemen, I will remember you fondly when I make this trip.

Thinking about this, and with this new insight on cultural exchange opportunities available in Ensenada, I have formulated a plan. Rather than wait I think I will skip Tijuana Tuesday this week, (yes tears will be shed but I will make it up to her), and maybe Friday morning drive to la frontera, park on the US side, walk across and take the bus to Ensenada. Think of it as a scouting mission. I'll pick a hotel for the night and return the next day. This will give me a chance to check out places to drive to next time, mostly want to find a hotel/ motel with secured parking in a fun area. Then next trip I will take the van and do some exploring, look at campsites, etc. With any luck I might have SENTRY by then, my interview is this Thursday.

This is only the first of what I hope to be many trips venturing beyond TJ, think of it as baby steps ;D

Drive straight to La Fonda in La Mision. Great camping, surfing, fishing. Several things to do, a few good places to eat, and cultural centers 30 minutes north or south. Anything you can do to spur the local economy into action would be great for all parties concerned!:o

Take some extra money. Things are a bit more expensive in Ensenada compared to TJ.

Also, you might want to wait until the next weekend, or plan to go again. The Baja 1000 is 19-22 Nov. Ensenada will be rockin'.
