Yes - once someone finds this forum, they know it is the best direct info on Baja, CA. Most forums - not a Q&A site - include personalities, as in real life, that sometimes aggravate. It's an extension of being a human. I don't condone such behavior, but to expect politeness at all times that doesn't reflect who a person really is, is not realistic.

However, now that some of the long-time posters here know that they can turn off a newbee, maybe we can ease up a little on occasion.

yes!

I am grateful to all whom offer advice and answers. I hope that my post help and never deride. When I was a newbie I felt embarrassed by a few questions I posed, but I soon learned that most Nomads were here to help no matter how I asked.

Thanks for all the wisdom that is shared!

Like any big family, there are ones who like to argue or act superior...

Try and provide good answers whenever you can... or offer help or links to show the way. I know the newbies aren't familiar with the Nomad Search engine at the top of the page, left side... Heck, many old Nomads still don't know how to use it! Until they do, help them with a link or an answer.

I do try to add a welcome note if I notice it is a new Nomad posting... and I always try to thank Nomads when they post TRIP REPORTS... which is the most valuable item here, in my opinion.

The attacks can get tiresome, but if your desire to share with others... or to learn something new is great, then you won't let the bullies chase you away.

Come to Nomad to get what you need for a great Baja adventure or daydream material, and when you have a story to share or some other 'gift' from your experiences, please share it here.

If you have a choice to make a friend or to make an enemy, why pick anything other than to make a friend...?

Carry On!:light:;D

Most nomads, I think, focus on about 10 posters that they either know or enjoy reading, and the remainder are just passed over.

Would I join again? Yes. Is it as much fun as it used to be? I don't think so. Maybe it's the downturn in the economy or even changes in baja itself.

Wow, you think?? I truly hope not. I try to read every original post, but often fall by the wayside when they drift from my main interests------I am interested in everything Baja, but mostly the backcountry stuff, I admit.

NOMADS is the best source of info on Baja that I am aware of. That fact alone keeps me coming back.

Many fine responses to what is seemingly a moot point. Of course this forum is a valued resource. Of course, it is a true affinity group. And with the exception of Off-Topic, I am of the belief that much of what may be observed as arguing would better be described as good-natured verbal jousting. I'd bet that despite differences in background, political point of view, lifestyle, religion, Etc., 99% of the folks posting here would enjoy having a cerveza with each other. It's about Baja, stupid!

You've got a point about the experience getting a bit dull at times. Perhaps it's because most, not all, of the topics brought up and discussed are in a cyclical pattern. What may be hashed over ad nauseum today will reappear as a new thread in the not too distant future. Immigration law, visas, illegal immigration, the border, crime, property rights, etc. Trip reports are unique, to somebody anyway.
In absense of a qualified English language news source, Nomad is pretty informative for current events. It seems, somebody will do the research.

Anyway, thanks to all you Nomads for a great time. Being on here is easier than doing what I should be doing.

I have found this site to be very helpful and informative. I have learned who some of the negative indiviuals are and take anything they say in stride.

Sure I would join again. I realize I haven't posted a lot but I have been coming here for quite sometime. I have met a few of you ( hi neighbor) and I do get some great info here. But I must say there's a few extremely negative people here and I was quite upset how a few responded to a post I made I couple of weeks ago. I believe MOST that come here LOVE Baja, but then again Baja Norte gets its share of bashers. I happen to be in South Rosarito and absolutely love it.

Another observations is: that the same people agree with each other and the same people disagree with one another. And I'm not talking about political viewpoints.

Those that disagree won't post until there is something to disagree about and then make their comment. And the reverse is true for those they agree with.

These 'alliances' really take away much from the board.

But I suppose that's just human character. Anyway, that aspect of the board is tiresome.
