Example of A Gringo Misbehaving in Baja!!!

The following was posted bt Zatica on Sundog's news digest.

Baja is a place where certain types can get away with what they would not attempt across the border in their own country. Victor of Zatikia Memorial Crematory and Cheryl of Poco Cielo were made victims of a practical joke that was unpleasant for all involved. The manager of her restaurant had called our crematory late Saturday evening and told us that Cheryls English Mastiff had died from a flea bath and asked if we would come out special on Sunday morning early. Cheryl was on vacation. So on schedule, with truck and worker we arrived to find the manager was not there and the head waiter was so kind as to take us to find him. When finaly found the manager said he changed his mind and buried the dog at a ranch and forgot to call and cancel the appointment. Upon Cheryls return we stopped by her restaurant to ask for help paying the gas, tolls and worker bill that was owed for the effort. She was shocked to find out that all this had happened, the dog was right there by her side, as alive and well as she was. She made her apologies and said it was a practical joke and that she had to fire this man for many other wrongs he had done in her absence. He was a fellow American, and this is wrong to treat each other this way. Our pets endings are a serious time, and running businesses here a hard job. Neither Cherly or ourselves deserved this. Lets all keep our eyes out for this type and try to avoid these things.

Why would she hire a 'gringo' as her restaurant manager? ;D

Cheryl is a great lady that also owns an African Grey parrot. Her hotel and restaurant are next door to La Fonda (which is going downhill fast).
When she vacations, she drives to Lake Arrowhead (in the San Bernardino mountains and 4 miles from Running Springs)
.
This was a sick practical joke!

I think I missed something. How is this even a practical joke? It looks like burrohat called the company to come out and then said he didn't need their service. Cheryl wouldn't have even known if the guy hadn't called to try to recover some of his costs. I would fire this clown based on his inability to play a decent prank.

Gotta agree with Cyanide that according to the original post, Cheryl never was emotionally victimized by the untrue claim of the death of her pet. That said, it also looks like perhaps the creep that she hired might have been working illegally? Finally, why did this thread become a convenient place to dump on La Fonda?
