Second Newest Book on Baja

Out of deference to Jack Swords use of the phrase "Newest Book on Baja" - and because I do not know when on Saturday that book was released, I am pleased to also report on a nice brand new book on Baja.

This is a book by Dr. W. Michael Mathes - proific author and well-respected historian of Baja among many other talents.

Title is: The Land of Calafia: A Brief History of Peninsular California, (1533-1848). This book, thus, ends with the treaty of Guadalupe-Hildalgo. The bibliography of English language reference material is wonderful; there are no photographs in the book.

This is a small format, 143 page book published by CAREM and proceeds support the projects of this historical and cultural organization.

The book is available by mail through CAREM for $15.00 including shipping and handling. A discount for multiple book orders may be available.

Thanks for showing the book John... Wilderone actually announced it back in June in this thread (on the Baja Literature and Historic Interest forum): http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=39161

That make the Mathes book the third newest?

1) Maritime History of Baja California
2) The Baja California Almanac 2009
3) The Land of Calafia
