Border Buying

The Border wait line was so short last week that the Vendors were not only IN the United States, but they were wandering around in the area where the lines are divided by concrete/steel posts. They almost out-numbered those of us crossing.

I spent around 20 bucks in singles buying (stale) Chicklets, donating to amputees, Indian Mamas and paying people to NOT wipe my truck with their dirty rags and stay OFF of my hood.

Times are Tough.

LOL. I never go to the border with a dirty car- last time I had to wave-off eight different men along the way. Easier to just rinse the car and then drive fast on the cuota to dry it off. Very fast.

Those rags they wipe down a car with are saturated with oil to pick up the dirt and leave a somewhat shiney finish. The downside is they just rub the dirt and grit into the surface [may as well use sandpaper] and the oil removes the wax, if there is any. I'll pay them to not touch my car.

Damn near got in a fight keeping one of those nasty rags off my brand new Tundra. I go through so often some of the vendors wave or nod as they work there way by me. Got my wife a big plaster turtle for the patio. The paint was gone in 6 months. I will have to clear coat the replacement. My favorite niece loves her Tinkerbell piggy bank. 5 bucks and it stole the gift show at her birthday party! Barbie has no game against Tinkerbell!! :bounce:

This is a well written article. The insight gained into a vendor's life has enlightened me. I will never look at a ceramic Aztec calendar the same way.

Yum, churros, when hot. Greasy stomach knots when cold, or after eaten....
