Colorado Dude - we find that the best fares out of La Paz are on Volaris. You should check their website (volaris.com.mx) for routes because they supposedly have flights now to LA and also Oakland (CA). Connecting in either of those places from Colorado might be easier than TJ.

If you have to choose between La Paz and Los Cabos...flights from Los Cabos are usually cheaper and there is a bigger choice of airlines and schedules.

I don't know what your other transportation is - driving? or other? You can always get a cheap flight to Los Cabos and then take the bus (Aguila or Peninsular) to La Paz for about $20.00US.

i just hitched a ride on a south bound Piper Aztec for mid december.
try some networking - there are plenty of private air rides out there.
try www.pilotsharetheride.com for pilots wanting to fill seats.

edit to correct web address.

Hopefully, Volaris will continue to expand their flights. However, for right now, it's my understanding that the Oakland- TJ flight doesn't connect anywhere near in time to the TJ-La Paz flight. And the LA service is only currently to mainland MX.

The other great thing about Volaris are the periodic promotions/specials they have. I bought 4 RT tickets from TJ to PV leaving this Friday for $543 taxes included. I had to purchase these back in October. That's $135.75 per ticket RT. ;D

I tried Volaris out of La Paz to Guadalajara any time in Feb/March/April ..and ...no luck. And apparently, when you manage to get this flight, it goes from La Paz to TJ first before turning south for Guadalajara.
