Footprinters President puts the squeeze on membership

Received this in my E-mail today:

Meeting & Christmas Party:
Tomorrow, Dec 5th starting at 2 pm
Join us for a wonderful Christmas Party here at the Clubhouse.
We will be serving Rost Turkey and Honey Glazed Spiral Ham with many side dishes and there is NO charge to paid up members.
We will also be entertained by Julio Acosta for your dancing and singing pleasure, so be sure to be here.

If at all possible, bring some kind of side dish, like deserts, deviled eggs etc. for our serving table.

Also, since this is a season of giving, don't forget your Clubhouse Staff, Sergio, Ray, Trini, Oscar and Julio. Why not bring an envelope with their names on it with a little Christmas gratitude for all that they have done for you during the year.

from the Christmas Mouse

OK here's the Rub;
Dues are now $30.00 because he wants every member to have a card with some magnetic strip on the back so that no one who isn't paid up cant crash that Shangrala of a club house/ warehouse thats empty most of the time. Dues used to be $20.00.

Second if I want to tip the help that should be my decision and I dont need some blow hard prompting me to do so.
This is the third e-mail I've received in less than a week telling about this "Free event for all paid up members."
Oh and dont forget to bring a side dish to share....

Yea right, Harry O's chasing members away at an amazing rate.
Keep up the great work on the backs of your membership Oh great leader of Rosarito and owner of OZ!
Whatadipchit!

Footprinters.

A benevolent organization people join so's they can get them a fancy law enforcement style badge that supposedly allows them to smuggle stuff into Mexico and also get out of being snagged by the local cops for drunk driving.

Well, there's a little more to it than that. If you want to be seen as a "Good" member, you have to spend a few hours at the station cleaning toilets. The cops like to see the gringo cleaning toilets.

Remember, next time you've had a hard night of drinking and your bombed out of your mind behind the wheel and your pulled over by the Rosarito police department..

Say: YO SOY FOOTPRINTERS NO ME CHINGAS! Dont worry your speach will already be slurred.

It's recomended you whip out that tin star in your wallet at the same time.
The tin star is optional and can be purchased at the footprinters warehouse for the low low price on $50.00.

Works like a charm. Gets you out of everything short of a murder.

Oh and all paid up members dont forget to bring a side dish to share since were so dam cheap were only springing for a ham and Turkey.

Oh yea and bring a desert too...

A horrible place. Harry O is a disgrace. Its a social club where no one goes. Should be torn down. Its not worth going there for free, never mind $30.00.

Well those that came complained about dropping close to $100.00 bucks. That's $60.00 for a couple Dues, Tips for all Harry's minions, Booze and the price of the side dish. No one would say anything out right, but everytime theres a meeting all the president does is complain about how members have this wonderful clubhouse and no one likes to use.

I'm pretty sure he's putting all the money the place makes in his pocket.

There's no oversight of the finances? No independent annual audit? No bookeeping? Is there a Board comprised of other members? Voting rights? Agenda to be voted upon? Issues brought up? The gratuities should have been taken from the club coffers. Why doesn't anyone use the clubhouse? What's missing? fix it. You belong to something and have no voice? These kinds of clubs or organizations can be whipped into shape real quick with some emergency meetings, logical talk, demanding accountability. You're all allowing this guy to be king of the kingdom. Throw him out.

What and forgo our wonderful opportunity to drink and drive on the high ways and byways of old Mexico? I dont think so. Plus I heard he pulled strings to have an an American deported a few years back. He Claims he's real tight with Mayor Hugo Torres and Ron Raposa.
You Sure you want to go there?
I'm with Dennis I'l just clean the toliets and keep my Gringo mouth shut.

That's easy enough to do if the person is illegal. Just a phone call and he's outta here. They'll think of a reason. I was deported because someone who wanted me gone said I was an activist. Nobody could explain what that meant but, it didn't matter. I was gone to the extent that I had to leave the country and go to the other gate and re-enter. The thing is, it's on my record.
