A big fraud?

You can believe whatever you want, but billions of tons of combustion waste globally does not just disappear. Weather or not its causing a change in temperature, does it matter? We should all try our best to curb pollution and support the advancement of cleaner technology. Technology is there, however its not being funded.

I am a mechanical engineer with many colleagues who are environmental engineers doing research for various universities. Also my family friend is a biophysicist at UCSD researching advanced carbon molecules. Science has proven that global warming exists. Its not even an either/or issue, nor is it a political issue.

Getting Deeper

I remember, as a child and frequent visitor to Catalina Island, being worried when I heard that Catalina was sinking at the time. The rate was said to be 1/8 inch per year. Doing the math, I relaxed.

All of this talk about rising sea levels doing wild destruction is a lot of BS. Holland has proven that you can manage the sea and we will. Much of Los Angeles-Long Beach Harbor is artificial. The SLOW rate of sea level rising (assuming the worst) will mean that NO Productive areas of the planet are subject to destruction. We'll simply adjust the height of the harbor facilities.

Anyplace WORTH saving will be saved.

Maybe not Bangladesh, but then why bother ?

The local Prostitutes in Copenhagen are giving it out free at the Global Warming Summit. Seems that the mayor of town sent letters to all the hotels asking them not to supply sex services with the hotel rooms, a local tradition.

The local hookers union now say that you will get it free if you have one of the letters. LA Mayor Villerepulsive and the Governator are both going. They will no doubt have a stack of letters arranged by their advance men.

Wouldn't this be a way of "stimulating" the tourist business in Cabo and Playas de Rosarito? Please tell your local mayor in Baja to promote sex services included in the price of the hotel room. Taxes can be collected on both and the local economy will benefit in many ways.

Some of you guys ( and Mr. Bill especially) never cease to amaze me with your ignorance....ignore science, and spout off with your collective "facts",
The jury is in and the results should not be ignored. That is "fact" but then again I am sure you don't believe in evolution either....

DK hit it right on!!
it is all about control of your lives - this would never happen in the 40s. look at Cap in Trade. if that goes thru - even OBama gleefully exclaims utility bills will go thru the roof!! he can't wait to control ALL of you sheep (speaking only to those here that are of course:lol:)

this is why Gore refuses to debate Lord Moncton who easily debunked the ENTIRE global warming fiasco moons ago. His thesis is so correct and right on point that any warm body with 1/3 a simian's brain can see it! that's why Gore and the rest of the climatatics don't get it - they have LESS than 1/3 a std. simian brain :lol::lol::!:
beware the left and be very afraid of their agenda. and keep your right to arms if it is the last thing you do.
trust me, after they have control of your money - speech is next.
it is ALL over history if you'll look at it.:!:

Santiago: No from the ver start I thought it was a Fraud! Why
I guess becasue of my Age, Experience as an Investigator where I would look at the people making the claims, their backgrounds etc,

It started with the Sierra Club, which engaged in some of the same type of Bull Puckey.
Santiago, Why do you think that "Reality TV" became so Popular.

Why do you think the various Universitys hired so many Ultra Left wing Profs.

Santiago: From my earlest years after being trained I was always looking for the "Root Causes' behind a persons action and words.

What really bothers me is the number of Folks who beleived this Bull Puckey, gave money for years to support this.Unbeleivable.

I'll have to admit that it's been about 2 years since I took my last geology class, and the one I took before that was way back in high school, so some of your expertise and training would surely eclipse mine. From the last geology class regarding the climate, I took that the composition of the various levels of the atmosphere are being altered due to human impact occurring since the advent of the industrial revolution in the 1850s. The changes in our climate are complex with wider extremes in weather patterns, phenomena, and catastrophes. I do not recall any political motivation from my professor. I have no idea of her partisan persuasion. She did mention that some of the sources of climate change was spurred by vested interests, but she declined to say which interests these are. They could be industries who profit at the expense of the environment, or it could be from focus groups who profit from voicing their concern. I, however, find it difficult to believe that the claim of global warming is actually an evil plot spawned by those who wish to clean up our environment, live in an ecologically sustainable manner, and achieve energy and water independence thus bringing about a period of peace and prosperity.

I couldn't get past DK's post. David, do you ever tire of blaming EVERY FREEKING THING on progressive people??

It is truly unfortunate that the term "global warming" ever became prevalent. The term is actually "Climate Change".

Is there evidence of climate change...Yes.
Is there evidence that seven billion people burning stuff has anything to do with it...Yes.
Is climate change ALSO caused by non-human influence...yes
The question is, it seems, how many bullets need to be in the revolver before you refuse to play Russian Roulette.

And David, who wrote the "Patriot Act"? That Bush Administration creation was the biggest theft of American's rights since the Catholics got their god put into my pledge of allegience.

Who would have ever thought that we could lose our right to a speedy trial, or the right to face our accusers, or protection from random searches of our property, or tapping our phones, or having our library records searched.

Who would have thought that we would EVER lose our right to habius corpus.

My Mexico tie-in is Alberto Gonzalas. What ever happened to him?

Skeet, I'll answer your question if you'll answer mine.

Why do churches need lighting rods?

This is my favorite site for sorting out issues like this where there is a lot of public rhetoric. This site wond a Pulitzer in 2009 and they do their homework. One of the few unbiased sources available to us. I find them very balanced and they don't seem to have any particular political axe to grind. Take some time on this site, I am sure you will learn something no matter what side of the political continuum you stand on.

I just read about the increased flood levels and dangers in Holland. Something is making the ocean levels rise and it must be study. Most importantly with an open investigative mind. Global warming does not make every place on earth warmer,it changes weather patterns. That can really change existing climates. Keep an open mind.
