Pemex El Rosario.....got LOCKED IN .....
.......the BATHROOM ......
Returning home Sunday from trip.....windy/ raining /cold.....gassed up and then pulled off to side to switch drivers and decided to use bathroom while
we where there.....the door to the mens side faces the street/pumps and where you would "take a leak" is open to the outside....well sometimes if you
think people are "watching" it is hard to "go" so I pulled the door shut and did it .....went to open door and it is LOCKED shut... no amount of turning knob/ pulling/ cussing will release the latch ......fooled with this setup for about a minute and was wondering if I would have to
call for help or what.....FINALLY got just the right twist and pull and it sprang open.....man was I a happy camper ....needless to say that I was glad to get back in the truck and drive
away......
And how was your day?.....

sounds like a traumatic adventure in Mexico -- traveling exposes us to such exciting experiences. did it scare you so much that you will never go to
mexico again? so scary!!

It was one of those "express kidnappings" we have been reading about.

A recent thread complained about the dirty conditions of those restrooms. I'm guessing it was a female poster, simply because it would be more likely
that women would be more sensitive to such things. As I mentioned in a reply post, Northbound travelers are little more than 1/2 hour from the Pemex
at Los Pinos, which has, in my experience, clean restrooms with modern fixtures such as automated flush valves and faucets. If you have some left in
the tank, and can "hold it" for 1/2 hour, it is a great alternative. Not trying to take away business from Antonio, but just recommending an
alternative.

I hope you washed/sanitized your hands after pulling and tugging on that doorknob!
Thanks for the post.

see, i'm thinking there would be "some" in the tank prior to stopping, if you're using the toilet.

Hotel California comes to mind....remember those lyrics?
Paulina....now I am worried (and no I didn't)....now if I can just remember what I touched after leaving....
At least it wasn't a porta potty and someone came and tipped it over.....
Note to self: never use public restrooms.

Yes, they can be scary, or at least cause a small amount of panic. I became locked in a bathroom when I was teaching at Calexico High School---almost
Mexico. It was a heavy metal door and where it was located, if another teacher had not been running late, I would have been there for over an
hour----not really scary, but really an uncomfortable feeling and the mind starts with the what ifs.
I had to wait until the maintenance people from the district office showed up ---- I was not a happy camper listening to the security guys making
jokes while I was trapped. When I discovered it had happened before I was even less of a happy camper
Only positive side was it made a good story for my students----
So, surfer jim, it is a very rotten feeling being trapped, and thanks for the warning----it might keep someone else from being trapped.

Well I was just asking a few days ago if there was rain down in Central Baja. Thanks for the update. So... a lot of rain, or just a few little
showers? Muddy roads at least?

We hit mist/light rain on the way north between Catavina to somewhat north of El Rosario. Some puddles at low spots in towns along the way. Roads all
clear....only mud was when we pulled off to side of road to switch drivers and tires would kick up some globs. Nothing south of Catavina, and beach
was sunny.
