I would discourage any use of addictive drugs-even too much coffee or tea and especially I discourage addictive soft drinks, I encourage a healthy
lifestyle of moderation and healthy diet.
I am reporting the current experimental stance in reply to much disinformation posted here. In fact, if you are an addict I think they deliver to your
house no questions asked in both regions but I have no experience expect once I was a caretaker in a hospice and yes the marijuana was delivered
legally there.

Dogs
Just curious - do they use sniffer dogs at any of the military or border checkpoints?

OK. I see what you are saying, Gnukid. But can you be assured that each and every officer will follow the letter of the law and that the user will be
given the chance to even get to court? Also, why go through that hassle? Why take the chance is my point?
What about my other points?
By the way, I am not singling you out to pick on you. I find you one of the best informed, most intelligent posters here. I enjoy picking your mind

The dogs they use at borders are for explosives.

I don't do drugs and would never allow friends to carry so I am not the best informed, I am reporting to you what the news says, what the gov says, my
observation and what we have covered here via national news.
I am quite shocked actually to have arrived in this odd circumstance which is that possession is not an issue, buying is not an issue, selling is an
issue and Federal dispenceries are opening in both regions and I feel the situation is fluid. Both USA and Mex have stated no Federal prosecution of
Marijuana and in Mex no prosecution of small quantities of drugs.
Now for example drugs maybe provided by Federal, State and private sales.
Just to further the discussion, lets say you live in a nice neighborhood and someone is doing drugs in public, this is no longer a offense pursed by
police, they must pursue a crime, such as theft.

The primary issue is explosives, where border inspections previously contained marijuana dogs it has proved inefficient due to legalization of use in
many countries, many US states and now no US/Mex federal prosecution.

Again, this is of little interest to me other than than a correction of the misinformation posted here which to me is far most interesting, why would
these posters be so invested in intimidation and threats based on false info? Lets ask them why?

ELINVESTI8..."your three finger lid"
Only a pot smoker would know this term and it is very old school. You've been smoking pot a long time. There is an entire generation that has no idea
what a "three finger lid" is...and then they would drop over dead after you explain it and tell them it was only $10...$8 if you knew the right
people...

Lets make sure they tell their parents
| Quote: | Originally posted by gnukid
So the point is now in both countries enforcement of possession is not enforced federally and in some cases not enforced by state and in both Federal
regions there is a clearly defined Federal legal possession route if you follow the route. In CA, NM, etc..., say, "I have a medical need", in Mex
say, "I am an addict. I told my parents" (regardless of your age).
|
Given the corrupt nature of Mexico's law enforcement I am quite confident that 'drug tourists' will not be afforded this leniency. However, I will
vocally support and promote it in fervent hope that it will lead to further misery and incarceration for the casual/recreational user.

Wow! The great debate! Pot smokers aren't addicts. It's like drinking a beer or our beloved margaritas. Same thing. The difference in the high is
that you don't talk so much about yourself.

Mexico’s decriminalizations of small amounts of drugs do not apply to foreign nationals, only Mexican citizens.

OK LoyeB - here's the real scoop. Don't ever take the gange over any border. It only gives the authorities a reason to harrass you. Go surf your spots
and get to know the locals, especially the cops. After a few trips, you will discover that as they get to know you better and better, the mexican
propensity to share just takes over! You get invited to c-ck or dog fights, you get invited to "social occassions" (old timers - you know what that
is), you get invited to share in the spoils of the latest gringo bust, or the latest shrimp boat import. In other words, do the time, earn the
respect, and you'll reap the rewards. Just make sure that during all this you're not getting played. Easy enough?
Whoa there, Cowboy - pull back on those reins!

Of course few here will actually read any of the links or do a search for themselves on "Mexico Calderon Drug Decriminalization and instead argue that
marijuana is not addictive which is well known so how can those in posession say they are addicts! Sorry thats the law you must say I am an addict, as
you all recall reading in the turtle post when the guy was caught with 5 grams of drugs but said I am an addict and was let go according to Ramuna.
The local cop might try to scare you but at the moment they can not prosecute small possession of marijuana by addicts. You need to practice saying,
"I am an addict, I told my parents."
This is really quite an interesting real time experiment with much to learn and its happening all around these gringos who have no idea because they
do not read and they do not interact in their community.
