MULEGE - Jorge Yee's Water Store is back in business.
Jorge has been working very hard after Hurricane Jimena wiped out his water store and residential housing develoments along the river in Mulege.
I've known Jorge as an amigo for over 35 years. This is one tough, nice hombre and he is now back in business selling RO purified water and ice. All
size water containers sold and refilled.

Jorge when young and a member of many Earl Stanley Garner expeditions in 1950-60's Baja.

Check his place out when in town. Jorge will be there working hard and could use some help in getting back on his feet. He'll be wearing the
biggest smile.
His business is located alongside the river close to where the bridge crosses the highway. South side. Easy to find from town ...or by driving the
river road before crossing the bridge coming from the south.

Thanks from Jorge
.

Roger, that's great news - Jorge is such a great guy and I have always tried to purchase my water and ice from him when I am in Mulege. Please say
hello to him for me. Jim

Is Jorge operating two water depots? When I talked to him at the end of October he had gutted and was preparing the Yellow (Yee's) taco stand near the
Pemex, downtown, as a water depot. At that time he felt it would be better that his exposure at the old one by the river bridge. I thought to myself
that parking would be problematic.
Anyway, I am happy to have the one by the river open. It is a lot more convenient to get in and out of.

Found another old photo of Jorge.
This was taken when Jorge was a camp cook for 'Uncle Earl' back in the day.

PLEASE BUY SOME WATER FROM JORGE!

Pampano,
Is Jorge related to Carlos Usung Yee from the Hotel Cabo San Lucas?

Hola Tony, Now you just gotta give me more time on these requests for info. A man's got to fish at least every other day in Baja or you lose your
beach bum standing.
As for Jorge's having a water store downtown, in addition to the one out under the bridge alongside the riber, I was going to say NO.
That is until we went to town this morning and instead of taking my normal turnoff on the riber road and under the bridge I drove
the long way and came into town past the downtown Pemex....and LO AND BEHOLD...there was Jorge's water store. Sure and Begorrah, it even has the same
name as the other..La Mision

So..YES...Jorge will operate two water stores now, most likely with his son, and please Tony, do not use the word 'problematic' again...I'm under a
severe hangover and may hurl.

Oggie, allow me to be the spelling police. And I don't know if Jorge is related to the hotel Yee or not, but I will ask him for you and report
back...after a couple fishing trips.
Yee are a numerous clan in Baja, so the odds are good they are connected. As the late Paul Harvey always said.."Stand by ..for NEWS."

I love it that our purified water store is next to the gas station so while I'm getting gas I can just skip over and fill my garafon....parking is
not an issue!
