Photos of Sea Birds at Gonzaga Bay

Here's the URL for photos of Sea Birds I took at Gonzaga Bay on Thanksgiving morning 2009. Hope you enjoy them. Our place at Alfonsina's is on The Pacific Flyway and a lot of birds migrate past us....but most of these are locals. There are a couple of shots not at Gonzaga Bay..they are identified.

I use a Canon EOS 7D camera and a Canon EF 100-400 f 3.5-5.6 L IS USM lens for these.
Most shots have not been cropped.

Birds

Had to cut and paste URL. It was worth it, thanks.

Take off the [img] [/img] tags and the URL should work.

The link works well now. Those are wonderful photos

Curious, what camera did you have before the 7D and do you see a lot of difference? I have the 40D.

Thanks for the information, and THANKS for sharing your photos.

DianaT:
Thanks for liking the shots! I had...and still have a 50D which I love. The 7D has more bells and whistles and it takes somewhat sharper pictures as I'm sure you know from dpReview and other sites. But both are just super cameras...as is your 40D. I have a buddy who is a famous and published birder who uses a 40D with a fixed 400 Canon lens...superb shots.

Where do you shoot and what have you shot. I'd love to see. I'm kinda a newby although I have spent a bundle on good Canon Lenses...and the two cameras...and I am learning.

Best,
BB

Gad!...I wish I could have seen that big bird taking a big steamer on your solar panels. They do that all the time on mine....and Barney Mcgee's next door. When they have stopped that they fly over and drop clams on the roof when I'm sleeping. Some try to fly up my nose...that's the small ones.

Then there are my neighbors...........ummmm:fire::lol::dudette::saint:

Very nice birds, bucko.
You have a wonderful camera and lenses... but still, shooting birds is an art in and of itself. You seem to have a talent for it. You're also in one of my favorite winter spots for birds - Gonzaga Bay.

I particularly like your blue heron in flight, wings down - it looks so streamlined! I also especially like the composition of the shot with all the pelicans on the tip of sand, Willard Island.

Please be sure to keep sharing your images of Baja with us .
