STACKED!!! (inspection booths)
Just crossed northbound @ San Ysidro @ 7:15 AM with a wait of only 15 minutes. They were using 2 booths at a time per lane, which really helped speed
up the lines. I asked the guy about it, and he really couldn`t be specific about when they would be doing this. But he thought it would be at least
M-F during the morning commute. Every little bit helps!! YIPPEE!!!
PS--I was in lane #19

Lucky you!!
Took us over an hour crossing at Tecate Monday morning around noon. And then some miserable pockmarked chunky guard gave us a hard time and send us to
secondary, which took another half hour. In secondary, talked to a Burro beach dweller, who informed me that this guy is a regular buttcrack on all
occasions.

chunky guard?
I have read many of your posts and in the past and have absolutely no quarrel with you. I do not believe I have ever met you and I am not of Asian
persuasion.
chunky guard? Lighten the f--k up and keep your poison to yourself rather than use your insecure sad remarks to yourself and anyone who would like to
listen to your depressing remarks. You are entitled to your opinion, but please keep them off this fine web site.
Any apology will wipe the slate clean.
Thank you

That's an incredibly short wait for a weekday morning. Good news. They are also going to add more northbound and southbound lanes.

With those airbags who needs seatbelts?
The stacked inspection booths are on the far left lanes and have been in sporadic use for months. If those lanes move twice as fast- the left two
lanes coming from Zona Rio would be the ticket (food court express lanes). If you come up the curved bridge from the Via Rapida- slide over to the
left lanes at the top the curve/hill.

K-rico------Short, and the line moved quickly. But of course someone was sent to secondary from my lane, so if I was over one lane it would have been
closer to 10 minutes. I knew the students were not crossing, but I will monitor the wait times for this window (7-8am).
Gull-- thanks for the picture of the young lady violating the seat belt law. I`d really give it to her if she was also talking or texting or drinking
a beer. Actually if she was a first time offender, I`d release her once I made sure she had no deadly weapons on her!
Woooosh-- I was about in the middle of things, lane #19. Best thing I`ve seen at SY in a long time.

Without a doubt...Tecate! The line is almost always shorter than San Ysidro. Having said that, I am sure that before long, they will give all the
Nomads reading this their own lane.

I do the drive to Tecate now and then, but it adds over one hour to my drive. Sure the line is shorter, and less stressful, but that`s a lot of time.
BTW, when going to Tecate, stay on the free road. 4 lanes nearly all the way and you save some $!!

Thanks, this is a significant improvement. Please let us know if it is a permanent change.
Significance:
"Compiled from more than 3,600 surveys of border crossers at San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, and Tecate stations - at today’s average wait time of 45 minutes,
more than eight million trips into the San Diego region are lost as many simply choose to avoid battling the congestion. This equates to a loss of
nearly $1.3 billion in potential revenues – mostly in the retail sector; three million potential working hours; 28,000 to 35,000 jobs; and $42 million
in wages annually. Excessive border waits also are affecting overall regional productivity. The total economic impact on the San Diego region is an
output loss of between $2 billion and $2.5 billion per year.
In Baja California, border waits result in more than 2 million trips lost that may cause the loss of about $120 million in revenues - mostly in the
food and lodging sector. The total output loss is estimated at between $100 million and $230 million per year."

Vandenberg
I guess I am a little dense, as I have no idea what you mean by "backing up."
I could give a damn about an apology to me, as you did not offend me personally. I was talking about a website apology. We all have bad days and evil
thoughts and I just simply meant that maybe it was a bad day for you and I gave you an out.
If that’s the way you feel, that’s you and that’s that, but again I request, probably like 99% of the readers, keep your ignorance and hate off this
web site. It’s that simple, keep it to yourself. You want to read into it any more, knock yourself out, just please don’t spew it on this Baja
Nomads.
Why would you want to upset people (not me, I could give a sh-t what you think) who are enjoying life by communicating and learning about Baja?
