Yes, she hasn't been feeling too good for a while (breathing problems) and maybe this trip will perk her up.

OMG, first time I see this thread,
My wife and I will be there for sure. I think we will drive all the way to cataviņa and camp but still have to plan because we have to ask for days
off from work.
TW: I hope your wife gets better.

You can call the motel direct (phone number on their site http://bajacactus.com ) as I don't hear much from Antonio via email motel@bajacactus.com .
Since I don't know 100% if we will be doing the trip, (depends on financial sitiation and my work), we won't make a reservation. Turista Motel is an
excellent back up if Cactus is full... It is a holiday weekend, afterall.

BIG NEWS FROM 'BAJA CACTUS' for Nomads!
I talked to Antonio tonight and told him we would like to stay at Baja Cactus on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010... as BajaCat suggested above.
Antonio ('BajaCactus' on Nomad) wants to invite all Nomads on the Mision Santa Maria group trip to stay at Baja Cactus Motel and will either have a
special rate or if rates go up (as he fears may soon do to new taxes and costs in Mexico), Nomads will be charged the older, lower rate. In addition,
Antonio will try and be there to greet us and have a special meal or breakfast for us, before we head off to tackle the Widowmaker!
Please email motel@bajacactus.com or call the motel directly (number on the web page http://bajacactus.com ) and reserve your room for Friday, Feb. 12 and tell the person you are with the NOMAD MISION SANTA MARIA GROUP.
Muchas Gracias Antonio!

Well here's how to tell us three apart!
I'm the shorter one, on the left...
Doug (BajaNomad) is in the center holding the plaque...
Antonio (BajaCactus) is on the right, wearing a tie...

David , If you go ( I hope you do ), what time would you think you will leave San Diego and when. I plan to leave early Frida the 12 , the way things
look right now I will be driving solo, the wife has to work and my son is attending college and doesn't get those days off, maybe I can follow you, if
possible if not I will take my trusted 2x4 with 2 nails on the end hahhaahaaa...

Just want to confirm that I'm still in for this trip. I think I will ride down to Mulege/Loreto and then come back and meet you but I will definately
be camped at Rcho Sta Ines Friday night 2/12. Look for the old guy with the motorcycle--

Yes, we are on for MISSION: MISION SANTA MARIA! Baja Angel has the Friday and Monday off... So, we will drive to El Rosario on Friday... not real
early, since it is only 6 hours from Oceanside to Baja Cactus... Once traffic is done, maybe 9 am.
Saturday morning, we should try and leave El Rosario by 8:30 to arrive at Rancho Santa Ynez by 10 am, meet Kurt and any others who are already
there... then begin the trip to MISSION IMPOSSIBLE!
Seriously, only go if you have 9+ inches of ground clearance, good tires, don't mind getting dents in the underside, and have good 4WD with LOW RANGE.
Locking Rear Differentials or Limited Slip Differentials would be HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
IF not, a winch may be needed to pull yourself up the long Widowmaker grade or several short, steep grades...
This is a 'Jeep Trail' much like the Rubicon of Lake Tahoe area... the closest thing in Baja to the Rubicon, perhaps.
We will camp at the mission or near-by Saturday night and drive out Sunday by noon... and return to El Rosario for Sunday night... and have a relaxing
Monday morning and return drive home.
Others that don't need to get back to work Tuesday or want to drive all the way home on Monday from the mission could stay a second (Sunday) night at
the mission. I recommend that, if you can... It is a VERY special place... I originally thought we could, but want to not stress out with a long
Monday drive or possible night time drive in the border area.

It doesn't look bad on this video, but strange variables creep in, like a wet swamp, or being overloaded and trying to drive out of the Widowmaker
area. Your vehicle will respond differently than expected sometimes, making this a challenging trail that can sometimes be underestimated.
