My email is infoATvivabaja.com (AT=@) and put BAJA DOG in the subject line.

It might be a good idea to have some in Spanish too.:light:

A photo of the dog (with his name below), date, location it ran from, a reward amount (say 'dollars', not just the $ symbol which is used for pesos, too) and contact info. should do it!

Amy, I will be driving that stretch a couple of times between now and mid-February. I will stop at all ranchos along the Highway and inquire for you.

Does 'Pickles' come when called by strangers? Any unusual habits or foods in case I find him and he rides in the truck or motorhome with me?

Thanks for offer of a reward, but not necessary for me. If I do find him at a rancho, I'll pay them the 300 and you can reimburse me later. I love pooches, too, and I hope we nomads find him for you.

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Amy, you have come to the right place, lots of dog lovers on these Baja sites. They will go above and beyound to help find Pickle.

Everytime I see the heading "Lost Dog" I cringe remembering loosing my guy last summer in BOLA (I found him the next day, my guy looks alot like yours, I feel your pain.)

Be assured that everybody reading this thread are talking to others, who are talking to others. Hang in there, prayers are with Pickle.

Does his collar have your phone number and his name on it? Is he microchiped?

Thank you Pompano!
Pickle does know his name and would come if called by anyone. He is very social. He loves people and if he isn't terrified in hiding, he will probably jump all over you out of excitement. Watch out; he might pee a little too :) He will probably jump right into your vehicle and ride like a good boy. He likes to feel safe. I can't think of any specific unusual habbits other than just being his usually goofy self. And I'm sure he would eat anything! We usually feed him dry food...
He did have a chain collar with a bone shaped name tag with our phone numbers on it.
I am so thankful for people like you willing to help find our loved one.
Safe travels!
Amy

Best of luck Amy for finding your pup. I think for all Nomaders that it would help if you post for a lost animal, put the area or city in the HEADLINE of the post...that way you may get people who were just in that area as opposed to all of Baja.

Better still... since it was north of Laguna Chapala... That would be the Cataviņa-Laguna Chapala area... closer to El Pedregoso (the lone boulder hill).

Best wishes finding him!

Please keep the search going!
I feel he is still out there, maybe at a ranch and they just don't know he's missing and that there's a reward.
Thank you, Pompano, for your call the other day. I truly appreciate your help.
Saludos,
Amy

Check the BajaPony Express.
http://thebajaponyexpress.com/2010/January/732--012310.htm
=======================

Happy needs a home! Happy was a very unhappy dog who had been dumped outside of Catavina. After wandering for days he was picked up by a very kind lady who brought him home with her to recover from starvation, dehydration and a serious wound. After months of TLC Happy is now available for adoption.
Happy is approximately 2 years old. He represents the best (?) of several breeds, part beagle, rottie and German Sheppard. Definitely a great representative of a Baja dog. Happy has been neutered, has his shots and is now very healthy and did I mention happy?
Now all he needs is his forever home. He will be a very grateful, loyal and loving companion.
If you are interested please contact Linda at lindaschwartz46@hotmail.com

Salsa,

Are you reporting this because you might think it is the same dog?

When someone writes that a dog was "dumped" somewhere, I hope that the author knows that for certain. Poor Pickle was hardly dumped.

Dogs run the opposite direction in Baja for many reasons. I hope that the dog you are posting about might be Pickle and if not that Pickle is found that that this Baja dog you posted also finds his way to a good home.

I just sent the person shown in that ad a msg asking her to look at the pic of Pickle posted here to see if it's the same dog. Wouldn't that be a happy ending?:bounce:

:no:Yeah, I figured it was too much of a stretch....the response I received:

"Hi again, It's not the same dog, but now I have the picture and can keep an eye out for him when driving back north. I sure hope he is found!!! And you're right, better to err on the safe side, just in case."

Well, I tried.

I had to see if it was the same dog. It was to much coincidence to ignore.

Maybe next time

No Salsa!! My comment wasn't directed towards you! I was saying I also thought there was a possibility that it could have been the same dog...just as you did! The "too much of a stretch" was a comment directed towards my own post about a "possible happy ending".

You did good connecting the Pony Express found dog to the Baja Nomad lost dog & posting the info here!!! :bounce:
