Definitely avoid the border highway eastbound through TJ. It goes through the lowest part of town and always floods during downpours. Just stay on the road that goes east from the toll road (Second Street) and drive through town. It leads straight to the border crossing lanes. I always use it.

Westbound using the border highway should be OK, those lanes are elevated.

Rain in Bahia Asuncion

It's raining in Bahia! Just a little more than a drizzle and It's refreshing and will do the desert a lot of good. I'll get to find out where the weak spots are in my deck/roof too!

Yep, Russ, that nasty red and yellow..... turned a 10 minute round-trip drive into a 45 minute search for non-flooded streets. Exciting stuff!

Well, we lost most of our power yesterday afternoon. A brown-out as it's called. Very low voltage lights would burn but nothing else would work. Stayed off till sometime in the night before 12:00.
Wind really blew yesterday PM, almost blowing me off the deck with a gust. DirecTV antenna is laid back....looks like a Wok.
No leaks...No damage for me but, others in town weren't that lucky.
Today is beautiful.... just like the start of yesterday. San Diego is calling for more of the same today so we'll get it too.
At 10 AM, I'm off to the beer market.

Stock up Dennis, the real storm will be this afternoon and tomorrow. Just had a quick shower pass by, but it is dark and windy here in Orange. Is the rain and wind blowing out of the south in Ensenada? When that happens it blows the rain right through the window vents in my house in La Mision. Had to repaint the south interior wall the last time we had vertical rain there, out of the south.

Yeah...most of it is. Two nights ago, it blew from all directions it seems but, mostly from the south. Pretty scarey stuff.

thanks all for the reports...tornado watch....how bizarre! The wind has been from all directions here but only up to around 20 knots. It rained sporadically throughout the night and at sunrise but has cleared now to partly sunny at times...roads still passable with no arroyos running here...just some mud.
Looks like a nasty 40 knot wind coming tomorrow from the SSW and it says a 20' swell...dang...stay tuned for wave pics. The biggest we've seen here was 16'...should be dramatic.

We woke up to lots of rain as well as thunder and lighting and winds gusting to 45mph here in Los Osos. I just got off the phone with J&J in Campo La Jolla and they said it was clear and sunny. Not for long!! Hold on and be safe.

I've measured 1" of rain per day Monday and Tuesday here in La Mesa. The wind has really been the story though. Trees down all over the county with a Tornado warning yesterday. We had our power out at the house for 10 hours yesterday.

Had to go out for Pizza last night!:P (Pomano, went to Luigi's if you're following this.)

Stay safe all!

Drove through this all the way to the Oregon border from Imperial Beach. We hit a horrible snow storm, about a foot on the ground at Mt. Shasta city. We we arrived at Weed it just stopped with light rain and wind to the border. Oregon is windy again today and chilly. Wishin I was fishin in BOLA!
