I THINK I'LL BUY A DODGE POWERWAGON

The 1950’s model I’m thinking about is kind of unique! It’s LARGE enough that I think I can live in it. I’d be able to traverse all the wilds of Baja and never have to worry about where to spend the night. I could back it right up to a beach and have a great view for c-cktail hour and then I could BBQ or cook myself dinner after a hot shower. I might even decide to buy a lot somewhere to park it and stay!

CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO OF IT... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XUEvkMZHno

I hope the owner will accept my offer!!

Miguelamo    ;D

You might have a slight problem on Mex1 with that. Those old Powerwagons are pretty sweet, I have seen fully restored ones with the Cummins diesel on E-Bay.

I have a sweet 372ci-425hp small block Mopar that would make that thing dig and go. Gobs of low-end torque, and no parts availability issues!

DENNIS ....NO PHOTOSHOP INVOLVED!!

Did you watch the full video? If you watched it...you would see that there is NO PHOTOSHOP involved. The thing is REAL and was built by a rich Arab who has a thing for Powewagons. The video takes you inside the mammoth and gives a tour of it.

I loved how the back tailgate lowers down to become a giant deck and how the master bedroom look out through the windshield, where you see the giant windshield wipers.

Take Care, Miguelamo :tumble:

I guess you're right, Mike. Who needs Photoshop when they have all that money.

What I remember about our old Power Wagon, which had once served as a Navy Ambulance and didn't have power steering, is that its turning radius was about the size of a football field. I was the designated driver, and some Mexican kid who was too young to drive (but knew how it should be done) all too often took a stand in front of it, gestering wildly for me to make a sharper turn than the clumsy old Wagon was equipped to make.

Stifling the impulse to run over them was not easy.

I had a neighbor when I lived up in the Sequoia's above the 6000' level that had one of those old powerwagons. Kept two 55 gallon drums full of water in the back that would stay frozen all winter long and he never got stuck in the snow or ice...
