Mood: Pole Line Road postponed due to injury

The stock Tacoma floor mat drivers side is hooked to the floor... there is no way it can interfere with the accelerator pedal. What happened in Santee was that Lexus loaner car is it had a second floor mat on top of the stock one... from what I read. The previous user of the loaner even complained to the Lexus dealership about it catching... and they did nothing. This is a big issue against that dealership. Toyota is not at fault, but have done so much to ease the minds of their customers.

I do not have any information about an additional accelerator issue or recall.

I am on my third Tacoma, with 242,000 total miles in the past 9 years and have had NO accelerator issues.

From what I'm reading, the accelerator design isn't necessarily the problem, nor are the floor mats. It has to do with the electronics, so be careful out there. There was another group of deaths on Dec. 26th and the Toyota dealership up the street from me is mainly selling Toyota trucks and SUVs now, although I read that the Sequoia had issues too.

In this region, a stuck accellerator could mean certain hospitalization with the steep drop offs without guard rails, etc.

Is the plan to still meet up at Sanit Inez in Catavina?
I will need to ride with someone as my truck is too long.

Si - I have BajaC reservations. If people are staying longer at the mission I could stay too. Am a passenger and will go with the flow. I will head south afterward for whales and hopefully Asuncion for a look-see. Shari, if you're checking this thread, can you still use VHS movies?

Can a forcast for 2 weeks from now be THAT close?

Do we need to go to San Felipe or Gonzaga Bay instead?

No, DK, it can't be that close. I check every day and it is always different.
BUT there is always some rain. I may chicken out of this trip at the last minute (will keep the Nomads informed) as I planned to stay a while and go somewhere else in addition. It is rather cool for my old blood and, and, and, the swamp is waiting, waiting, waiting....

How about San Juan? But, it could be too cold and wet up there, too! We like the HEAT!

I am game for San Felipe, Gonzaga or any place else in Baja.
Getting the gear together now... According to latest weather forecast at least for the next 10 day no rain in San Felipe..
