OK, everyone,
We (Ha) have decided to cancel on the Baja Mision Trip. We have an Oregon California Trails convention 12, 13, 14 Feb. in Tubac, AZ so we will leave early and explore Arizona instead.

Have a good trip!

Thank you very much! Please post us as often as possible what you see between now and the trip!

The mission is only a dozen or less air miles from Gonzaga Bay!

Looking good Jose! Seems I paid too much taxes (don't we all) and there is a refund on its way!

Now, there is rain coming and no need to get into a mess... so let's hope it doesn't rain south of Ensenada any more!

:( Bad news! We may not be able to make this trip.

Reason: We just bought a house in Playas  so we are poor and in debt . Have been taking some time off work to do this so I may not get days off on the 12 or 15th. We are working around 70hrs a week now so my boss won't be happy if a leave on this trip.

I'll let you guys know for sure by next week.

First nobody wants to go, then the rain, now the time... :?:

My plans have changed a little too. I have Corp. people coming in next Thursday and Friday for budget talks. I had planned to take both days off and head down thru San Felipe to Cocos then up to Santa Ines. Now I hope to leave here Friday morning if possible, certainly before noon (I hope) and drive as far as I can. I still plan on being at Santa Ines by 10am Sat. I'm taking Tuesday and Wednesday off for a relaxed return trip.

Baja Angel and I are still hoping and planning to go... We have reservations at Baja Cactus for Friday and Sunday nights (Saturday we will be camping at the mission, hopefully).

Weather forcast for San Diego as of today (Friday) is RAIN tonight and all day Saturday. Sun, Mon, Tue clear. Wed & Thu more rain!!! YECH!!!

However, I am thinking tht this series of storms will not go south of Ensenada... :?:

I REALLY want to take my new Tacoma to the mission and put Toyota's 'Active Traction Control' (A-TRAC) to the ultimate test! Plus it will be fun camping under the stars with amigos... around the campfire.

So, who is still in the running (provided the Baja Highway doesn't get washed away again)?

Looking rather grim for me. As mentioned earlier, SAR has priority. I would really like to come. Last time there, my first and only, I did not drive all the way down. I camped at the top and rode my mountain bike to the Mission. I was the only vehicle and decided against it, but with others, I would like the challenge along with the company. For me, another trip in Spring is in order.

Well... I hope none of us is so gun-ho to do anything dumb. If the weather looks bad, then we can re-group in May (Memorial Day Weekend)... That's when we last went in (2007), and it was great!

If today's and next Wed/ Thu predicted rain doesn't go south of Ensenada, we should be fine. A call to Baja Cactus will let us know how the roads to El Rosario are.

I do want to go, but dryer/ warmer conditions will be more appreciated!
