Great, I hope they keep up the good work. Maybe a less violent sect is preparing to take over. This bad press is not favorable for the business.

I read that one of Teo's top people ( a lady) was kidnapped from Agua Calientes Blvd yesterday. Bet she had a rough night and a worse day today...

Enough cops have been killed in TJ, let them do their work with the new info they've "convinced" Teo and the soupmaker to give them.

Drugs have been big business in Mexico for decades. I doubt it will ever cease being a fact. That said, all of the violence throughout Mexico has
become a serious eyesore to the rest of the world. I truly hope that the elimination of Teo's people is a joint effort between government agencies.
Snowballs chance in Hell, but a chance none the less. Most likely it is new people getting set to take over the operation. Possibly some people that
know that staying under the radar is a much easier way to run an illegal venture. The wholesale murder going on now, was almost unheard of, and the
attention was all about finding the drugs on the way in, not the murderous bastards really running the show! If the drugs don't go away, and they
won't, maybe someone will be smart enough to go back to the old way! I wish they would all drop dead, and the people I know and love could go back to
a life where they don't have to worry about getting shot in the crossfire of narcos every time they head out of the house. My wife and I have friends
and family that live from the border, all the way to San Quintin. Those people, and the rest of the honest, hard working citizens and visitors deserve
not to live in a war zone. So yes Donjulio, I just said that, a knee jerk reaction to Jesse's post.

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully, yet whoever does could be even worse.

I'm hoping the investigation will head up to Baja Norte next. Teo spent a lot of time here in Rosarito Beach. He wasn't afraid to be out an about
here either.

Have these guys become presentable? They're pretty scummy looking, tatooed faces and all. Hard to imagine a cabinet member looking like that.

Stupid question time. Why did Antonio Alcantar fly to TJ with that letter? Would it not make more sense to go to DF?

Bajajazz,
I think you are referring to this -
"12 .- On the Origin of the Secretary General of Government Luis Armando Diaz, this has been properly cleared at all times to the immigration
authorities, giving birth on November 6, 1965 in Tepic, Nayarit. Prior to the General Secretariat of Government, Luis Armando Diaz chaired the H. IX
Ayuntamiento de Los Cabos and was local deputy for the district VII, with head in San Jose del Cabo, serving also between 1999 and 2002 as Secretary
General of H. VII City of Los Cabos."
He was accused of being from El Salvador. Don't know if it's true, but with this government, anything is possible. Most anything can be faked here
fairly easily.
BTW, if I am remembering right and you're selling a VW Combi (bus), PM me. |
John,
Are you a Mexican citizen?

Just tought you should know, your technically breaking the law, all it would take is someone filing a report on you and you could be deported.

Mmmm, I'm here legally. Or are you saying that I'm not allowed to comment on the news like everyone else does here? That comes across more as a
threat than a friendly advice. |
Everyone in La Paz is on edge. They went from detached observers of the drug trade to front and center of it. Give Jesse a break for a few days at
least. No one doubts false papers can be drawn up with ease- it's just not the direction we hope Mexico is still headed.

I am saying you been here for about a year, you don't know how things run around here, and you obviously don't know that it is ilegal for a non
Mexican citizen to get involved in domestic politics.
I personally don't care if you do or not get into trouble, but your leaving yourself exposed to others.
remember you got kicked out from la paz group for the same thing.

No, I'm out. I don't see the "peace and love" here when people start threatening me and my family. It was just for diversion during these slow
times anyway. Bye guys. |
You see? you don't know what your talking about. Nobody is threatening anybody, i am just poiting out to you that your comments here could easily be
interpreted as meddling in domestic politics, and obviously land you in trouble. Not by me, i am actually giving you a heads up so you don't expose
yourself to anything, but i guess i should of just shut my mouth and let you find trouble on your own.

AudioBaja, You, do not have to leave Baja Nomad. Just be careful what you say about Mexicans because you are a foreigner someone could turn you in if
they think you are breaking the law. Jesse may have a point. Mexicans come on here and see what is written. Just be careful.

audiobaja, you must be having a tough morning! I didn't read Jesses' post as a threat at all....I read it as he just explained it...simply a friendly
heads up on the factual legalities of non-Mexican citizens getting "involved" in Mexican politics. You gotta be having a really tough morning to have
construed a friendly heads-up as a threat to you or your family!

This topic comes up from time to time. In one of the mining threads a caution was raised to Gringos wanting to get involved in demonstrations against
the mines.
I read it as just a caution as well.
No reason to quit BN audiobaja.
