Capt. Phil Harris

I met him once in Ballard, Wash. where his boat was kept. He was a guest on another crabbing boat that was giving tours. He was pleasant and enjoyable. He rode in on his awesome Harley. The graffics were unbelievable on his tank......Pirates and fishing scenes. I loved his show.

As far as I'm concerned, given that there are indigenous people throughout the Americas, including Mexico, and many live in Baja, that thread had more of a connection to Baja than does this one. however, while not being a mind reader, I suspect that a primary reason for that thread being banished to the dark side was that a bunch of bickering developed by several posters regarding the injection of politics and political viewpoints that were mostly irrelevant to the original topic. I admit that I participated, to a certain extent. But, my contributions were more of an admonition of the first offender.

They made him watch one too many of his boring, redundant crab fishing episodes. If you saw twenty minutes of it, you saw it all.

He had a stroke while on his boat off St. Paul island up in the Bering sea north of Kodiak. He was probably reading one of Dennis's posts on Nomads at the time.
