We're here. Got beer. Get used to it -Asuncion!

Well it was one of those days driving that ending up kinda sucking. Lost a couple of hours in San Ign waiting on some carnitas. Arrived in Asuncion much later than planned (in the dark). After a loop through town, found Shari's camping spot. Camper jacks deployed, beer down the gullet. Looking forward to Shari's visit in the AM (just not too early). Shari, the small horned demons you may see running around are my wife's. If they are being angles, they are mine. Good night all.

Sure would like to know if anyone is surf fishing just below your camp site. Hearing some reports of halibut in the surf in SoCal. Any sand crabs? How's the wind?

Haven't seen any surf fishing this am, but that doesn't mean anything. It was nuking on the gulf side yesterday (we were going to go fishing with our friends in Loreto, but the wind gods had other plans). The air is down right still over here this AM.

Looks like there are some nice markets here, so time to re-stock on water. Hoping there's a tortillaria as my tortillias are getting a bit old. Seems like we spend half our time loading up on provisions.

It holds a lot of fuel. So far, haven't noticed any extra regens on the D-Max due to the diesel here, but guessing its been doing it more often. Fuel mileage has dropped off though (in part due to the winds -always a headwind no matter what direction I'm driving).

Pretty sure I passed Bajacat yesterday b/t Santa R. and San Ign. BC, do you have loud tires? I was too busy trying to read your license plate when we met on Mex 1, that I didn't see if you were waving, etc. At least I assume it was you.

Never did get a read on the plates. All I can do to keep our rig b/t the lines in that wind. We've seen a lot of Bigfoot campers down here.

For fresh made corn tortillas go to Doritas. On the main street you will see the statue of the fisherman and the road forks there. Take the south fork and it is right there.

Also, if you want a good sit-down restaurant you can walk to from the campground, try Tres Hermanos. Gloria has this restaurant in her house---can't miss it---bright green facing the beach. Often the sign is blown down. Check on hours as they do change.

Easiest water place is the one by the gas pump---but there is also one with the co-op across the street from the Internet Cafe.

Have Fun and enjoy the town.

I spooked up a little halibut yesterday while swimming at town beach.....hmm that's not really much of a fishing report.
Asuncion welcomes all angels and devils---especially those with beer!
