Semana Santa begins...fiestas everywhere!!! tio Javier's birthday fun
The kids got out of school on friday and this weekend is when semana santa gets rolling. Many people choose to have their 15ņeras during this time so
family from out of town can attend...thus there are fiestas all over town.
Our family was no exception as we celebrated the birthday of Juan's uncle Javier who many of you know and have heard play music. It was a great
surprise party...he was truly surprised!!! The band played for 8 hours straight with only a couple P breaks and for some tamales.

As usual, we invited guests that were here and they were the life of the party. They had never been to a mexican family party before. It was a classic
with great food, lots of tecate, music, dancing and of course a piņata.
here is a little album of the fiesta

here are some piņata pics of the gang..It's pretty fun with adults because after a few cerveza...they blindfold you and spin you around 3 ties so you
are good and dizzy then everyone shouts directions to help you hit the sucker. oh man...we laughed till we cried....birthday boy up first and has a
serious stance.

everyone shouts out things like..up high...down low....to the right kevin

nomad Zoe got into the action...behind you Zoe!!

up high brian...

finally the last hit

candy scrum...interesting strategy...cover the candy with your body

after tamales the dancing started...love those cumbias!!

the youngest member of the band having trouble with some of those licks

Flaco taking a break...where the heck did I put that tambourine?

the birthday waltz

I can safely say, a good time was had by all!!

Our Semana Santa in the United States
Since my wife can't re-enter the United States until this summer, we're going dancing to music from her native Colombia in Downtown L.A.

The good times in Baja look like a great time and I wish I could attend...
