If you're fortunate enough to still have your Mother go spend some time with her today, she wants that far more than flowers. If she is far away at least call her and talk to her, don't send her an email. She is more precious than you realize, be sure and tell her that. Same goes for Grandmothers.

Wishing all the mothers and grandmothers out in Nomad land a Happy Mothers Day and hope you get to spend it with family......dt

thank you and ad my happy mom's day wishes to that for all you mothers out there. Mother's Day is usually my favorite holiday here in baja but this year, I fear it will be a let down. Usually ALL the village moms gather in a hall where we are fed, plied with free beer, get a prize at a huge raffle and dance our feet off all day long. It is a day where we all enjoy each other's company...however this year it has become a political event.

Yesterday I heard the little speaker car promoting 2 different events. The 2 big political parties have come to the village to try to win votes I guess...so they are each having competing mothers day parties...which makes me so sad to divide us like that. Women will most likely attend the one with the best raffle prizes or the one who's candidate is their favorite. I'm sad.

OUr village has 2 coops and often people are divided by this but Mother's Day has always been about ALL the moms getting together regardless of which coop or political party they belong to. dang.

UPDATE>>>just heard that there will be 3 different celebrations sunday, monday and tuesday...hmmm...sounds like alot of hangovers to me!! but better than dueling parties on the same day.
