Upcoming World Cup

I am curious as to how many Nomads are interested in the upcoming World Cup tournament.
First game will be this Friday the 11th at 6.00 am., where
Mexico will take on South Africa and it should be a very entertaining game.
It is televised all over the world, being the #1 sporting event.
I get it on the Canadian Shaw Direct, where ALL the games are telecast in HD on CBC and an affiliate.
I know there will be lots of interest among the Mexican folks.

I think my photographic memory ran out of film

I'm looking forward to all of it. It's especially prudent to watch the outcome of Mexico's games. When they lose, especially to the US, it's not safe to go out in public....especially to the bars where emotions run high and hot.
GO USA...........GO MEXICO........GO CHARGERS

ARE YOU KIDDING ???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am from Brasil and I can hardly stand the wait !!! I have the Brazilian international channel and they are showing amazing scenes from South Africa already !! Soooooo wish I were in Brasil for this .... the whole country, and I mean THE WHOLE COUNTRY goes into carnaval (Brazilian spelling) party mode !!!! :bounce:

So, looks like Mexico plays South Africa on Friday June 11 at 3 pm

Also, Mexico City sent a huge Mexican angel statue :saint::saint: that will be unveiled on Friday which will guarantee a Mexico win ... gotta love the Mexicanos for thisssss

now, on a funny note ... for the last world cup, Les and I were in England and as it was my birthday - his best friends got me a birthday cake with a soccer ball on it !!! And they were astounded at my loud well....VERY LOUD cheering sitting on the sofa in their livingroom.. and I had to tone it down. They were not used to it and I had to be respectful ahahaha

Most people really have no idea how passionate we Brazilians are about soccer. one of the first things i remember when we went to brazil to live permanently (I was 14) is my uncle telling me that my team was Flamengo. His team was my team, in other words !! and they are .. to this day

I give Mexico no better than a 50-50 shot of even making it out of the group.

As I grew up in the Netherlands with football/soccer as our main sport and played the game into my late teens, I have to support "the Orange". They have a very good team and should make it a good ways, maybe "all the way" ?
My second choice(should be first one) is Spain, and third Argentina. Sorry Brazilians.

For a complete rundown of the action:

And... don't forget ...there's a 8 hour time difference with the stated times. GMT is greenwich mean time.

Looking forward to watching as many games as I can. In my own rose-colored world, I actually think the USA has a shot!
