Our new addition!
I'd like you all to meet Nala, the newest addition to our big happy family!
After arriving last night from La Paz we had a small meet and greet and then had a yummy dinner and a full bowl of water, then we went out for a
little walk so Nala (who until yesterday was called Juanita at the Baja Dogs shelter in La Paz) could meet the other cat's and dogs and then go for a
much needed bathroom break!
It was love at first sight with Shamy and Nescafe, our other two dogs, and even though I had her on a leash, as soon as she saw the other dogs she
perked right up! She had been a bit scared and jumpy and once she noticed that there were another two dogs to hang out with, I guess she decided we
couldn't be too bad!
Adrian and I brought shamy back home for a sleep over so that Nala would not feel too scared. But it was poor shamy that suffered since Nala had
already slept in the car and had no intention of settling down for the night, and instead decided to use shamy's tail and ears as her new chew toy,
well I must admit shamy was pretty darn good about it, not one little growl, only an exasperated look in her eyes that said "ooooh boy here we go
again".
Finally Shamy decided to go outside and leave little Nala behind so she could sleep. Once we got in to bed around midnight, Nala had had enough (or so
we thought) and layed down on the blanket we had set out for her and went to sleep. A couple hours later I woke up to a paw on my arm and a wet kiss
on my cheek, as I fumbled around for my cell phone to see what time it was, Nala sat beside the bed waiting, when I noticed it was just past 2 am I
groaned and got up to let her out to go to the bathroom, then of course she got all riled up with Shamy and couldn't possibly go back to bed with all
the excitment, so I stayed up with her for about an hour and when she finally dozed off I crawled back in to bed for a much needed rest...
At around 5:30 in the morning the little paw patted my arm again and this time I made Adrian get up to take her out, but of course since I was excited
to not miss any of the new puppy's adventures I was already wide awake again, good thing this time it only took about 15 minutes!
After sleeping for another couple of hours, Nala seemed to think it was time to go explore the beach, but not before a hearty breakfast, so I got up
and started my day.
Here are some pic's of Nala and Shamy on the beach exploring and playing fetch, or rather, shamy was playing and Nala was running behind her trying to
make sense out of what on earth the other dog was doing with a big heavy ball in her mouth (Bleh, she much prefers treats!).
Aaaah, time to relax after all that hard work!
And so our happy family keeps growing!!!
Baja Dogs in La Paz does a great job at rescuing street dogs and curing them, so that they can find good, loving owners and live the rest of their
life in happiness, so if anyone is looking to adopt a dog (puppy or adult), whether it's here or in the states, these people arrange rides for the
dogs if one is not provided.
They function on donations of any kind (food, money, crates, medicine, etc etc) and are very hard working dedicated people!

Yep!
Shamy and Nescafe are great dogs but can get a little jealous at times, so we're lucky that Nala is pretty much care free and competes more for their
attention than ours!

This looks like the pup we lost to cancer last year, his name was T-Bone. He was Rhodesian Ridgeback, Catahoula Boxer and Australian Shepard mix. We
loved him very much!

The night before you posted here a baby beluga whale died from a breathing malfunction at the Vancouver equarium
Her name was Nala
sold out and got out !!!

My younger cat (the light one) is the same. She managed to win over her (jealous) sister with unswerving love, affection and attention. To this day,
I think she loves her sis more than she loves me.

@Timo: Wow I had no idea! I actually named her Nala because of the lion king movie...not sure how many of you remember I used to have a pup named
Simba (who is in doggy heaven now) and I always wanted to get another female lab for him and name her Nala...So that's where the name came from but

@Tio: what more can I say than LOL  Mom insists on calling her
Nalga...it's kinda catchy actually 
@Ms: What pretty cats!!! Yep Nala is doing just that, except I think sometimes she might be considered as a pest to the other dogs, now that they know
her a bit better they don't hesitate to growl or show some teeth, good thing she knows when to back off....sort of...but then again, who can resist
that puppy cuteness!!!

Same with the kitties: The older one ("Wild Thing") hisses and/or growls at Zoie daily, because Zoie cannot control her enthusiasm/affection and
sometimes overdoes it.

OUCH...poor little Nala got a taste of the desert! some macho rotweilers rolled her into a choya bush...those bullies. She remained calm while mamma
& pappa took out all the nasty thorns...she had them all over her body.
