Mood: Depends on which way the wind is blowing

Man on the Street Mood - Cautiously Optimistic

We were paying bills in Rosarito today and the locals at the various places we visited seemed to be pleased about the results of the election.

One very nice man. a security guard at CESPT, carries his resume and police "good references" letter around with him, looking for more work. He and his wife moved to Rosarito from Puerto Penasco, with a dream to buy some land and build a house.

"Sinaloa has no work." he said, "Rosarito has more opportunities; the problem is that you have to be careful to avoid the bad people."

Then he said, "Bustamonte can get things done; he will improve the border, and help the people who need jobs."

So, just a little snapshot of the mood around town.

Optomism is all some people have left.

Sad....isn't it. Makes you want to be a Liberal for a while.

Never thought I'd say something like that.

Yeah, He's a Good Guy

They have no family here; he sold his Honda two years ago when everything went bad, so he has a driver's license but no car.

He wasn't looking for handouts, just networking. He said, "I can do construction, I can fix cars, I can sell." He is bright and motivated. He has a year contract at CESPT. Mon-Fri, 8-5, Sat 9-1, and then looks for other work on his time off.

Not much better here in AZ., work is hard to find. I belong to a AZ off-road web site and it is surprising how many members have gone into the Military because they can't find work. Talked to a Mexican friend in Sonora Mexico this last week and he said there is no word in Sonora either.
