I was thinking the same yesterday afternoon, as the sun barely burned through the clouds around 3PM and lasted for about an hour. Just a couple of miles from Disneyland.

AZ east of phoenix,typical summer heat here the temp right now is 106...must be the most predictable place in the world as far as the weather goes:cool:

The weak El Nino of this past winter has quickly turned into a weak La Nina condition which means cooler Pacific ocean temperatures. Cool ocean + hot desert/inland valleys = marine layer along those parts of the coast and generally cooler/dryer in the eastern Pacific.

La Ninas also correlate with a busier hurricane season in the Atlantic.
