Thanks, I have sent the author a link to the threads on Police Extortion in Ciudad Constitiution and a discription of the problem.

It is sad indeed that people are so afraid of traveling to Mexico and the behavior of Police, like those who are practicing extortion of US Citizens who must travel throught CC, is just the sort of thing that is killing their business. There have been too many stories about corrupt police who are complicit in crime and this is part of what will need to change in order to get people from the north traveling there again.

It would take a long detour to go through Ciudad Constitiution on your way to Rosarito Beach.

If her only problem is a lack of customers, she should consider herself lucky. This restaurant operator in Rosarito didn't fare as well. Happened last night.

Many other antagonists have ventured to this board and their names appear on the banned list.

Many of them reincarnated themselves with different login names.

How do you differ from the past?

Do you plan to be original? So far it is not evident.

Remove the stone in your shoe and your walk on this board will be more enjoyable.

OK, I'm going to start the stop watch and see how long this post stays up.

If this stuff ever happened to one of the ex-pat American business owner Rosarito is desperately trying to attract... it will be game-over for tourism, again. Either it won't ever happen, or you'll never hear about it if it does. Eventually crooks will get tired of robbing those high-flying restaurant owners that live in trailer parks.

JEEZ, People !!!!
How did this get so far off the original subject ?? I thought it started about a great restaurant which I have had the pleasure of frequenting many times and always left as a happy camper.
There are several other threads available here to vent your incessent Dibble and negitivism about Ciudad Constitiution. Go "flyfish" on one of those, PLEASE!!!!
This one was started as a cry for patronage for a fellow nomad's business. Has anyone got something positive to say??? Please step up and do it. Do not be intimidated by the few.
Anyway, Susanna's has been a wonderful restaurant for many years. The cuisine is fantastic and she has always been a most accomodating hostess. I for one Nomad will be going to have dinner there this weekend. Even if I don't have to go through Ciudad Constitution to get there from San Diego :P:lol:
Now can we please start this thread all over again on a positive note. ;D
OK sombody else jump up here and dare to say something positive about Baja.

elgatoloco, unfortunately many people do not use an internet communication device for learning, they twist things to suit their own agenda. Rather than see others drink and enjoy sweet water they want to poison the well.

It is sad and it is one reason I choose to not mingle with gringos in gringolandias in Mexico.

See I knew there was somebody that was a true BAJA NOMAD out there.

Anybody else with some intestinal fortitude out there ???
Remember, the objective here is to have a positive attitude about "our" Baja. :bounce::lol::bounce:

My bad, sorry. I have just had CC too much on my mind these days. I apologize.

I do feel sorry for that restaurant owner. This is just the sort of place that puts Baja on the map for some of the best cuisine in the world.

It is important that we keep in perspective the wonderful businesses in Baja that are trying to stay afloat in what is a very bad ecomony and you do this place a great service by sharing it with others. I am glad that at least one person will now go there because of what you have shared.

Truthfully- it was not really a positive article. It wasn't a glowing culinary review... it was Dibble's observation that a good restaurant, opened with the best of intentions and talented expats, is starving to death for lack of tourists. We all know the successful TJ/Mexican business owners live in nice Chula Vista enclaves (ChulaWanna), not trailers.

Thank you both, Iflyfish and Woooosh ;D

Well said. Yes it's hard to find very much positive to say about "our" situation down there. However, if we try we can make a difference. I know several of those business owners who you spoke of, Woooosh. The Ortega family from Puerto Nuevo and Rosarita are having a very rough go of it after many years of serving U.S. tourists and being excellent hosts. And yes they live in "Chulawana" (negitive connotation again but,OK. I give U a break).THAT"S 1. Even the doctors and attorneys I know are feeling the pinch. So it's not just the expats who are suffering. And by the way in case you haven't noticed it's not isolated to just "our" Baja. It's on both sides of the border. We're all in this together.:?:

OK, I'll stand down from my soap box now :wow:

Looks like it's gonna be a beautiful weekend to go to Baja. Anybody got plans?? :tumble::spingrin::lol:

Today is the first completely sunny day we've had for a long time. It started to improve yesterday.
Really warm in Ensenada with a good breeze. Looks like the weekend will be perfect.
