Woody!! So glad you got a TT. That's all I used and we went everywhere in that thing! OK, you didn't ask for it, but here are a few tips - you
probably know them already.
1. The axle is probably mounted on top of the springs. Flip it over and mount the springs on top of the axle. That will give you some good clearance
right off the bat.
2. Spare tires are ridiculously hard to find at our average llantera - you will need your spare, and bring 2 more tires just in case.
3. Never fill the water tank (if oyu have one). A long trip on a dirt road will tear it off it's mounts and you'll end up with a crushing ball loose
in your trailer. Same goes for septic - drain it before you leave.
4. To the extent you can, replace all screws with bolts and locking nuts. For the ones you can't, bring extras 'cuz they have a way of coming loose on
the road.
5. Bring an extra set of axle bearings and axle grease. It's very possible to bend the axle on a rough road, which then increases the heat on the
spindle and bends it, then disintegrates.
6. Bring plywood pieces, say 3'Wx5'L. It will help if you have to drag the trailer in sand or mud, and you can prop it up on the wind side of the
trailer to keep the wind from rushing under the tent.
7. Get some good quality foam and use it to plug every entry point to the trailer - the electric plug, the water plug, any drains, the heater ducts -
this is to prevent the damn moon dust from getting in while driving. There's nothing worse than pulling a pot out of the drawer and having a few
tablespoons of the finest dust just float in the air in front of you!
I have a gazzilion other things that go with a gazzilion stories, but this should be enough to get you started on your own stories!

...Or for hex head wood screws typically found in joints with "L" brackets and in cabinetry, take a few out before hand now and buy a box with over
sized thread, that way when they rattle out the larger size will bite better when you replace them. You probably will never need to do it again.

thanks for the ideas! i have two mounted spares and an extra tire. the axle trick sounds good and the screws and dust control (is that possible?) and
the 5 gal water tank goes in the truck.....

i'm installing 2' square carpet "tiles" that are left over from my current Multi- Battallion HQ buildings in 29 Palms. they look really good going in
"basket weave style" over the 1988 era vinyl floor.....
