MYELOMA AWARENESS

Some of you may know about my 20 year involvement with the fight against Myeloma in Baja as well as the United States. Here is a chance for you to help in that fight too.

This is a chance for all International Myeloma Foundation supporters to be in the driver's seat as we raise awareness of the IMF, myeloma, and the great work being done to change the course of this disease.

Please take 30 seconds every day for the next ten days and log onto nascar.myeloma.org It takes several seconds for the page to load... Wait for the car to appear and click on the "vote" button. And please do it every day for the next ten days. If you desire please send the link to all your friends as well.

The IMF has entered a race car design in a contest called Sponsafier. The winning entry will be built as a full sized car, showcased at a NASCAR race and your votes can help push us across the finish line.

The idea and the car design came from a myeloma patient in Normal, Illinois. Keith May has covered the car with slogans to raise awareness of myeloma and the work being done to beat it. Keith and the IMF have named the car "The Survivor".

"The Survivor" is one of several hundred entries in the Sponsafier contest. Some are just artistic designs and some like Keith's support a cause. Now we all have the opportunity to support Keith and the IMF by voting every day for the next 10 days and by asking your friends, families , and colleagues to vote too.

NASCAR racing is growing rapidly in the US and this is an opportunity to educate an entirely new audience about myeloma and the advances that have been made in treatment and the challenges that lie ahead.

The messages on the car are simple "Beat Myeloma to the finish line" and simply "Beat Cancer". What better way to get there than by racing.

Work is being done in Baja and other states in Mexico with the help of the IMF and several clinics being kept open with their donations. I visit these clinics often in Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City and soon a large clinic will open in Tijuana supported by the help of the IMF and other cancer funding organizations.

MYELOMA WILL BE BEATEN SOON BUT WE NEED SUPPORT!
