Baja Wealth

As the earth disappears
and development takes hold
I've collected some things
more valuable then gold

It's just bit's and pieces
gathered throughout the years
Nothing you could find
at your local Sears

There's some shells and some history
memories and such
What it all boils down to
it really ain't much

To most it means nothing
for there ain't no thrills
In pieces of memories
without $100.00 bills

But compared to the worry
on rich peoples faces
Give me the junk
I wouldn't trade places:lol:

JR

A gem in the rough you have here my friend. Polish it a bit and you could become a Baja legend on more than one level.

I kick myself as I write this because I promised myself to stay a lurker. Damn it you drew me out with this one.
I really don't think I have given you anything to zing me with this time, but only your response will tell.

JR... That photo is unreal!
-------------
LOSING THE MOON

The moon is moving away from us, they say--
an inch and a half every year,
receding into the cold infinity of space.

I think of the rose-silver moonlight
we have loved under:

catching perfect fireflies,
kissing barefoot in grass embroidered with dew,
admiring winter stars.
All those days, it was moving,

farther each year we'll spend together.
Love, a daily assumption now,
moonlight giving way
to the everyday patterns of sun:
morning breakfasts, evening television.
It's true, no one stays in love forever--

rather, it's a falling in and out, like the tides
or the slow ellipse of orbit. In this way, we will
discover each other again, our shared footsteps
imprinted in memory. In time,
we will pull each other in once more,
and so begin anew.

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.
