Speaking of the car, it's possible it has been towed. Someone should first check to see if the car did indeed cross back to Mexico (they capture the license plates I believe), and if it did, start checking impound lots, esp in the Ensenada area where they may have been sighted. It just seems to me this car would stick out like a sore thumb, maybe they abandoned it somewhere, also.

No, even though that car looks like they are tinted.

Exactly, I truly believe the car is the key to finding them, one way or another.

I wouldn't spend much time at impound yards. If it's federal, you won't get in anyway and no one will be able to answer your questions.

Stick with places you think might attract them....like "Papas 'n Beer" in Rosarito.

Just hand them a copy of the flyer with a photo of the (or a similar) Mazda Miata

I meant they should make sure the police are looking for the car at impound lots.

I can pretty much assure you that won't happen. They would have to be paid before they would go that far out of their way.

unfortunately you are right. The family needs to put the pressure on from the US side, but with no evidence of a crime, thats unlikely.

Yes its been difficult because they are both adults and no evidence of foul play. We have contacted the Consulate and they have the flyer and an open case.

The family should be coordinating that along with other measures when they or their representative can be "on the ground" here in Baja.

The key to this whole event is the car.

As fast as cars are disappeared down here, I don't see how it would be the key to anything.
God forbid, but if foul play is involved, that car will never be found.

If they are just holidaying, the car will be the easiest way to spot them as it is so unique.

Dennis.....

That type/color car is somewhat unusual in the Ensenada area........I might have seen one or two in 6 years. SOMEBODY, the police, the military (at checkpoints), someone at a PEMEX or at an impound yard (the ones the local, state or federal highway police use) will have seen it.

The flyers that Lizard Lips and I posted on our case had a color photo of the missing man's truck......someone remembered seeing it and that's how we found him.

Tim, if I were you I would go talk the folks at that hotel in person...

working your way south from there makes sense.

It would help to know what they are interested in? Surfing, camping, boating, rock-climbing, racing, history/archaeology? I see they liked to party but what young person doesn't?
