i was under the impression that if you hit/kill a cow it was your fault and you had to pay the owner for his loss.

fISHGUY I know you're in a hurry to be a UNIVERSAL NOMAD but in your haste to suceed don't forget that some of us don't count all your posts. Especially ones like in this thread where you haven't even bothered to say "and that reminds me" or "and I just thought of this too" or "and furthermore, now that I think of it". Give the others a chance -- I'm just saying....

In Loreto, mid sixties, there was a meat market on the square. When the butcher got wind of an animal killed on the road, he would close up shop and go get it. Man...that meat was tough.
It was about that time Rival brought out the first crock-pot I'd ever seen and it was just the answer for that tough beef, but you had to leave it in the pot all day.

Cows? Kid stuff.

You have not really lived until you've hit a high-shouldered bull moose..

...and wondered how much of him will come over the hood?

Maybe the "Deer Alerts" would help, they're little gizmo's that stick to the front bumper and make a high frequency sound when the wind rushes through them. At least the if the cow looked in the direction of the vehicle, it's eye's would shine at night.

yep I was a passenger in a truck driving at night and all we could see were their eyes. Nope it was not fun, especially since I was the only one who did not want to be on Mex 1 at night. 5 close calls ( 1 really close - we looked for hair on the corner of the bumper ). The waves were pumping at least
