Utility Vehicles
As I have found that there are many diverse opinions expressed on here, I am looking for some suggestions for a new utility vehicle. I have looked at
several different brands and models and I am having difficulty in making my decision. I love both of my Kubota Tractors, they have been trouble free.
Kubota does make several versions of utility vehicle, but I have not found very many people with the Kubota RTV. Any suggestions on what to stay
away from or possibly some ideas on what may be best. I am not racing, just puttering around the property and doing some exploring and I know that
4X4 will be a necessity for my use. JH

I met a geologist in Nevada who had two of the Kubotas , he said they were very reliable. I have a Kawasaki mule and would not recommend them because
they are a PITA to work on.

I've got a Polaris Ranger and I love it. It's an '08 and of what I've read on the Ranger site
( http://www.prcforum.com/index.php?sid=42eee3bac7c0b022eb49ae... )
the newer Rangers are even better. It's a really biased site but you can search around and find some good comparisons. Of course at 50 mph the Kabota
... well it's back there some where. Polaris is now offering a diesel but no one has a lot to say about them. I would trade up to an 2011 model in a
heart beat if I could sale mine.

I looked at utility vehicles a couple of years back, and while every choice is usage-dependent, here on the ranch I could not see why a UTV would be a
superior choice to, say, one of the larger Honda/Kawasaki/Yamaha ATVs for work, exploration or even light tilling and plowing.
My friend's Kawasaki UTV (which he highly recommends) is not good at towing (I speak of sand rescue here) - they also seem extremely expensive for the
power received.
