nah nah nah, God is Brazilian (anyone Brazilian knows that) so ... whoever lives closest to La Bocana (BCS) is closest to God, be it Baja Sur or Baja
Norte.
and furthermore, we Brazilians think our country is fantastic, wonderful, beautiful and downright amazing. So, waaaaaaay back in the day, someone
asked God - whilst he was creating the world - why he made Brazil so gorgeous ?????????????
I know it is gorgeous, he answered, one of the most gorgeous places on Earth BUT wait til you see the people I am going to populate it with.
We still say God is Brazilian, though. But Dennis is definitely closer to Santa.
Still and all, I am not sure why we would want to limit the input to anyone Baja Sur only ???????? It is like drinking only French wine or eating
only Argentinian beef or drinking only German beer. Maybe someone lives NOB or in BN but still loves Baja Sur and is knowledgeable enough to make a
difference in information posted ????? Isn't a difference/variety of opinion the spice of life ? Please don't attack, I am thin skinned and am
simply voicing an opinion ..... and trying to understand the purpose. I just haven't been convinced it is a good idea, yet.

You'll see the light when someone turns it on, Blanca.
You're doing just fine.

This thread reminds me of something my daughter Coleen wrote describing a wonderful Baja trip in 2001. Excerpts from her log follow. These are her
opinions only, but I thought they were relevant to this thread. At least how this thread started:
"We left Meling Ranch early on Thursday morning, and headed for Rosarito. It was hard for me to leave Meling, because it was essentially the end of
our adventure. Maybe it's because I don't expect the magic of Baja to happen near the border that it doesn't happen. Or maybe it's because it is
really nothing like the further reaches of Baja, and the type of people it attracts -- both gringos and Mexicans -- are different. But I was right,
anyway. Nothing magic happened once we left Meling and the sparsely populated parts of Baja.....
.....Being here [Rosarito Beach] reminds me of being in Vegas. I can find things to enjoy, like the spa, and maybe do some shopping (although I would
much rather shop here than in Vegas). I did buy some beautiful Mexican blankets. But my heart's not in it. Tourists are constantly accosted on the
street here by kids and adults selling chiclets and all kinds of junk. It makes you feel like a target instead of a person. That just doesn't happen
anywhere else in Baja except Cabo San Lucas, which is why I would never go there for a vacation. Except for Tijuana, La Paz is the biggest city in
Baja, and I have never felt like a big American target there. People treat you like another human being, with respect and dignity. The same way I
treat them. I know a lot of Americans come here and act like jerks--that a lot of Americans come to places like this just so they can act like jerks.
So there is a reason why we are treated this way here. But I really only like going to places where those kinds of Americans don't go, so I am not
lumped in with them.....
.....I'm writing this from my hotel room [Rosarito Beach Hotel], on the last night of our vacation. I've got so many great memories swimming through
my head. On balance, it's been nice to decompress here a bit before going back to my "real life." But this place is only a resting spot for me, not
somewhere I will dream about, or somewhere that will get under my skin and make me itch to return. This place actually makes me want to turn tail and
get as far south as I can, short of Cabo, of course. Because it will only go downhill from here. San Francisco is about as civilized and techologized
as you can get, and that's far, far too civilized for me, thank you very much.
I'll take a palapa on the beach without running water, electricity, cell phones, regular phones, palm pilots, the Internet, or annoying sales people
any day. But I might just bring my laptop so I can write about the color of the sunrise on the Sea of Cortez, and photograph it with my digital
camera. And I might just post all that rhapsodizing on my website later so you all can read about it. And of course I'll check my email to see if you
have written me yet. "

Good story, Ken. There's been a lot of Pacifico under the bridge since 2001. Has your daughter been back since?

Thanks Dennis. We did another trip the next year (2002), but then having a baby and raising a son got in the way of our Baja trips.

Oh, well....I guess you can go to Baja anytime from any place since it's largely a state of mind.
Thanks, Ken.

Exactly, Dennis....I find 'Baja' in lots of places. Like where I am now..about 3000 miles north of Coyote Bay.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Skeet referring to this site:
"It is getting to where it is controlled by a Bunch of Norte DOPERS."
It seems, Skeet, that the above is your main reason for wanting to start your own BCS discussion board. I encourage you to do so. If you do, be aware
that it is likely to be populated by a bunch of dopers because ALCOHOL is dope. Just because it is the kind of dope of which you approve does not make
it any less "dope" than any other mind altering chemical depressant.
It has been my observation that people on this board, when discussing dope in its various forms, have been referring to a preference for alcohol or
cannibis. I don't remember a single instance of someone defending the use of methamphetemins, cocaine, heroin, or any other substance which might be
described as hard dope. (narcotics)
I invite you to read through the voluminous Nomads threads which have compared the social costs of alcohol and cannibis in our culture. You are a
member of a small minority who continue to try to force your narrow-minded views on everyone else. It makes it impossible to resist calling you out as
a besotted hoarmonger; the latter which you have admitted, and the former which is often painfully obvious.
Throwing in being an evangelist and a member of a dark secret society further refines your minority status.
Please don't blame us if YOU don't fit-in.
Undoubtedly, there are people who cannot afford to give the anchor of sanity even the slightest tug. Sam Harris
"The situation is far too dire for pessimism."
Bill Kauth
Carl Sagan said, "We are a way for the cosmos to know itself."

In Mexico alone in the Past year or so there has been over 6,000 Killing due to DOPE!
In the United States of America the Largest number of Criminals in Prisons are from DOPE related Crimes.
Everyday many Men. Women, and Chidren are being killed by DOPERS Driving Cars.
Our Hospitals are crowded each night and Day by DOPE related Injuries!
I am very Happy that I do not FIT in with Your Crowd Vag.
Keep it up, just think you may Kill someones Child someday!
