Killing, eating and annihilating sea turtles

You guys got confused, got off the track. My former turtle thread was about helping sea turtles survive. Here's the place for the killing, eating, etc. As you were. Go for it.

I went back to the original thread to see where it went astray and sure enough, it was a couple of pilots. I apologize for hijacking your thread, can't speak for mike though, he'll have to do that himself.............freaking pilots.....:fire::fire::fire:.....dt

DT, that's Okay, could have been anybody. Might even have been people pretending to be pilots (although I don't know why anyone would want to do that) or pirates, or pie makers or ..... you get my drift.

I haven't seen a turtle killed since a bunch of pilots got busted in La Paz for betting on dog fights and eating cute baby turtles. Bad pilots!

Yikes!!! I just read the other thread. Osprey reports the return of endangered turtles and people start talking about eating them!! Yikes!

What a privilage to be near such an event. It sounds like the turtle may be making a return and that would be wonderful. They are wonderful creatures and our world will be richer if they survive and thrive! I hope you do take some photos and what a find!!

This should go back on the other thread but, what the hell. Taking pictures is tough. The female turtles lay their eggs and night and it's not cool to go down to the beach with your flashlight and camera/flash to get a shot of them in the dark cause it spooks em and they leave without nesting.

The baby turtles hatch, mostly at night but that's the time when you're sneaking around down there amidst the nest and the night watchman protecting the nests -- could get yourself in a jackpot with the turtle cops.

as someone who aided the netting of the beach area , Green Island . Great Barrier Reef , I am amazed that there is anyone who could accept the taking of sea turtles . Watching the hatch working to the surf with birds hunting fish waiting etc is enough problems for the birthing and existance of turtles the world over .

Don't Condone Crime

I AGREE. I would NEVER condone harvesting a protected species and HOPE that the day comes when the Sea Turtle population recovers to the point where they can be legally Harvested.

Yum.

Not so cute, but REALLY REALLY Tasty is that formerly well-known fish whose name (taking a line from Harry Potter) shall not be mentioned. Once in awhile, Fillets become available of an Unknown fish which looks and tastes a LOT like said Fish, but I'm always assured by the friend or vendor that it is actually a Sea-Bass of some sort. They seem unclear as to exactly what it is named, but they are sincere and I'm SURE that all is completely aboveboard. Otherwise, of course, I would reject the offer and remain ethically pure.

Tastes Damned Good, too.

2 twa ba. That's the Hawaian spelling. I have never tasted the dangerously delicious thing.
