Cristobal,
This is the clinic I have recommended when there have been questions about a good TJ dental clinic. My kids and I have gone there for about ten years now, since my daughter was in school at SD State. We have always been pleased with quality and costs and have been treated very well. We have had everything from fillings to root canals and bridgework. If there is something needed that is beyond what they do they have specialists to refer patients to.

I couldn't believe how many DENTAL CLINICS there were up and down the streets close by .....:bounce:
There were probably 8-10 people waiting to jump on me ... when I walked through the door. They weren't kidding with the sign outside .... that says ....
WALK-INS WELCOME ....:bounce:

I would be scared to death to have any medical procedure done south of the border. Ive heard too many horror stories.

The insane rules, regulations, and requirements of U.S doctors & Phisicians are there for a reason.

I am scared to death about such little knowledge about the fact that there are very good doctors and dentists in Baja.
I said it before:
What I have seen here > american dentists are "creating" , IT IS A CRIME !
I am scared to death to let any american dentist to ever touch my mouth.

Well, if you don't know better, it is understandable,
but do you really know, bajabum, can you really decide and make up your mind whether or not a dentist is good?
Same with a doctor?

More Hi-tech than anything I'd ever seen in the states (1997 was my first visit) he had the first digital scan in North America I found out later......In October this year I went to an American dentist and she asked me where I had had my latest work (I'd sworn to myself I would never go to another American dentist) , "Mexico" I say (waiting for some bad-mouth) "BEAUTIFUL WORK!" she says. I then told her about the digital "x-ray" he has and she told me that she was getting the same.......Welcome to the 21th. century America!

Please excuse any typos (and I'm sure there are many) I'm fighing my 3yrs. old G-Son for the keyboard.

Its not worth the risk...

They just arent held to the same (high)standards in Baja. Licences & permits can be bought. Like most everything else there, dentistry, health care and technology is second rate at best. They dont have the dinero to buy the best equipment or education. They dont have the governing agencies to keep things top notch.

If people chose to go there for whatever strange reaons, more powere to them and good luck!

I have Mexican friends that come North of the border for all thier medical services, they know better than to risk having anything done down there.

I have not experienced a problem first hand but know plenty who have and the list of nighmare stories goes on and on.

The health care industry in the U.S is know to be numero uno...why settle for less than the best just to save a few bucks?

dentist

I went to my first Mexican dentist this summer in Cabo. She was great! Removed a wisdom tooth that had been bothering me for weeks. I was in and out of her office in about 15 minutes, virtually no pain, healed perfectly, and paid about $70. I know I got the gringa price, but to get rid of the pain, quickly was worth it.

This dentist is from D.F., and has been trained well as a dental surgeon, I would go back and see her again if the necessity arose! Saludos, H.

bajabum, I tried to say it politely > you just don't catch the point:
The American dentists CAN buy everything, yes.
But they are too snobby to learn and to make good jobs.
The dumn American Patients (like you) buy each and everything.
So why making a good job?

The Mexican dentist needs to convince his patient with quality.

That's the diff.
Take it for granted from somebody who worked in the US as well as in Baja now.
I said it before: What I've seen here done by American dentists is a crime.
Money cannot buy intelligence, knowledge and experiance.

My Mexican Dentist was educated at the Loma Linda school of dentistry and regularly lectures in the US. As I said, I've been going to him since 1997 (yes, I have made several trips all the way from Seattle just to see him) Also, did I mention he accepts American Dental insurance?

Dentist in TJ

My friend gave me her dentist name in TJ and I went down last Sat to have a ck up and cleaning. I have never in my 53 years had such a wonderful cleaning. The office was so clean, the equiptment was top of the line. Much better than our high end dentist in Encinitas. I made three more appts. I don't think I have ever had anyone be so gentle with my mouth. I have had a lot of dental work done over the years. As up here you need to get referals and ck on where your going. I for sure will have the rest of my work done in TJ. My dentist wanted 1400 for one tooth I am getting all my work done for less than that one tooth what can I say.
