Congrats!!! We are anxiously awaiting the day when we can spend more than a month at a time in Baja. We got our dirt, so now it's time to make things happen. 3 or 4 more years and it's all good!!
Disfruta!!!

Ah Legz, the eternal voice of reason! You are right of course, poop could happen still.:O A few pointers from you helped more than a little, and I think it is a done deal.
As a matter of fact, the first Tundra bed of essentials for La Paz are heading for La Mision about 10pm tonight!! :bounce:

La Mision is between Rosarito and Ensenada. If you know where La Fonda is, I am in the ejido above the river just south. Actually the real big stuff is going into storage, but thanks. Mainly fishing gear, a virtual truck load, some tools for car and boat service, and my computer and home electronics. If I run out of time or room, I promise a U2U! Oh, can't forget the wife's warmer clothes and a few boxes of shoes! It is really going to cool off in La Paz this winter!!!:bounce::lol:

Congrats Bajabass! I wished that I could retire in La Paz, but instead, I go there 10 times a year from OC, California. My wife won't have any part of Mexico. As you know, it takes two to tango if you want to live in Baja.

Just got back last night. Man, it's warm in La Paz.

Tip for those of you who spend lots of money making calls from Baja to USA. USE SKYPE. My wife and I corresponded for an hour every day on the Skype to Skype internet video calling feature. It's free! I go to internet cafe's and use their free WiFi for the required internet connection for my laptop. Calling any USA phone from Baja on Skype (VoIP) costs less than $.02 USD per minute! I put in $20 USD in my Skype account a month and a half ago and my account balance is only down to $16.23 USD today.

MitchMan is right ... we talk to Poland and England and States and Brazil and all for free. We have never even deposted a cent into skype. The cennection is perfect, it sounds as if the person you are talking to is next door.

BjaBass: yours is indeed a fantastic story and we all look forward to meeting you. Congrats !!

Well friends, seems a major SNAFU ( $$$$ ), caused a delay in my migration! :fire: Things SEEM to be back on track, with a deal done at the end of November. Traded in the 09 Tundra yesterday, for a much less expensive 06 Tundra 4x4 Double Cab, only 44k miles, and clean! I had a hard time finding a white one, and had to drive to Toyota Of Escondido to get it. My 09 already had 30k on her, and needed new tires. All those trips to La Mision were adding up!:O
I have not seen Dra. Bajabass for almost 4 1/2 months now, and I'm really looking forward to her visit here for the week before turkey day. Then I fly to La Paz T-Day for 4 days! First time to spend a night in a house I've been paying rent on for 5 months now.
Seems most of my wife's family have had vacations in La Paz now, and 1 sister-in-law has already transferred her nursing job to Cabo. another is in La Paz now, job and apartment hunting. I love my wife's family, but I really hope my family doesn't decide to join us also.:?: :O
So, 4 days in La Paz, fly home and pick up the not so big check, load the truck and adios!!! With any luck, I'll get to hang the Christmas lights around the house and pool!!! :light:

Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.

It took us 6 business garage sales and 4 personal, but we got rid of most of it and what we didnt, went to good causes.
One thing I can tell you for sure.................you will never miss a single item!
Another thing I will tell you for sure....it doesnt take very long to build up your collection again.
Felicidades!
