ADVENTUERS WHERE ARE YOU?
Hey! Where are the New Generation of Baja Adventurers??
We need some very good , Young, Honest Kids to fet a good Boat, well ewuipted and start out at San Felipe.
Tell the Story of the Tortuva, the past Shrimp Industry.
Work their way South Fish and record all of the differences in Water/Tide etc.
Be Honest and Factual!!
They would have to spend at least a year, following the guidelines of The Log of the Sea of Cortez, Ray Cannons Sea of Cortez and otrhers.. I think it
would make a great Seller as there will always be someone who wants to Adventure!!
Comon you Youngsters ! Step up to the Plate! Change your Life! Put your Heart in it!! Take a Risk!!
I did it and it was the Best time of my Life.
You can do It !!!!

Tell them you're going to Pee Test every single one of them, Skeet. Don't want no DOPERS infiltrating this intrepid group.
If I were a youngster, I'd drop everything and be on board.

Better put your idea on a different message board Skeet. This message board has occasional threads about how to make
the font size larger, which I appreciate.

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Hell Skeet, you raise my kids for a year and I'll take the job. I am Mr. Mom during the day so you'd have to drive them to IB every morning for
school. I'd have to take Dennis though, I may get bored or fall asleep at the wheel. Plus he may be of some assistance if we get boatjacked by some
seņoritas.

Great Pomp!!
You know what I am talking about!
If I was 49 again I would beg, borrow, or Steal a 30 Foot disel towing a Panga and start out at San Fleipe. Telling the stiry about what Happened ,
then South to Bay of Los angeles, then to Loreto then to then still unexplored Area South of Agua Verfe.
It would make a great Adventure Where are those people of the New Generation?? Step up to the Plate. Spend some of your parents Money. Live!
You cannot imagine the fun you will have.! You surely will not ever have to have DOPE. It will be a High that you will never Forget!!
I will gladly help all that I can.

Wonder how many of this board readers even know some of
the names like T Miller, E Baxter, Cannon, J Krutch,
even the more recent Baja heavy weights
like G Mackintosh and G Kira? Skeet, I think the
Adventurers' by the seat of your pants' Baja participents
may be, for the MOST part. be a thing of the past.
Back when the gas station at Sta Rosalia would run out of
gas for a few days and when the ONLY info available was a AAA map. No good info like bajanomad. to ease one down
Hwy 1, there was virtually no current accurate info on baja.
When you had to go to a Pharmacy to have them dial
back to the US. Now GPS. cell phones, self service gas stations, you young whipper snappers sure have it
easy compared to' back in the day'

MoSkeeter,
Is this going to be a reality show like "survivor" or "the bachelor."
Perhaps this journey would make a good subject for a road movie like "harold and kumar go to white castle" or "dude, where did i park my car?"
A boat full of us youth needs a chaperone so we don't get delayed by fornicating and smoking dope,... skeet, will come and chaperone us? you know us
youth, we are all full of hormones and we lack impulse control. you can be the grandfatherly type that offers advice, which us youth will ignore but
in end we will learn our lesson.

No! Just some good Kids that would like to have an Adventure!!
They do not have to be Pre=Screened just make sure they are not the Sierra Club Types.
Would like to see some with a gleam in their Eyes , wanting to Investigate and Learn, taking a Risk. No need to have me as a Chaprone, Approach the
Risk, then make their Decision and "Go for it'!!
I am sure there are Youngsters put there that can do a Good Job. They do Not need DOPE! Just a Desire to see something New and Different.
Where are You ???

Baja is still an adventure and full of new discoveries... We just had more last weekend. Trip report coming!
Oh, Sancho... those are great folks...
I met all except Baxter (he may have been standing next to Tom at a boat show, however) and Krutch. There are more... the biggest influence on those
of us who went into Baja before pavement was Howard Gulick (with Peter Gerhard) as the author and map maker for the Lower California Guidebook
(1956-1970 editions). Then Walt Wheelock with his La Siesta Baja books and his revised Baja California Guidebook (1975 & 1980). Cliff Cross was
another biggie with his Baja Guide and bird's-eye view maps... 1970-1975 editions.

Ha I am 26, 100% drug free, work hard, and love Baja. Where do I sign up? I think this is a great idea. Sorry for the lack of posts, but I couldn't
resist this one
There are a lot of problems with kids these days ranging from apathy, instant gratification needs, fear of the unknown, to society's pressures to be
successful, or parental pressures. I think that most kids are so concerned with seeking success or parental approval that they forget to go enjoy
themselves and have an adventure.
The next problem is that the few who do go out there and seek adventure, normally baja is not the destination of choice. It is too close to the US
and most consider it dangerous. Most go to Southeast Asia, or over to Europe. I have also heard from a bunch of my friends that "Baja will always be
there." People who haven't been to Baja don't know what they are missing!
I am fortunate to have been going to Baja from a young age, and although there are not many of us, please do not count the young guys out!
