Thanks for the tip, Cat. I'll have to schedule a camping trip to better appreciate it under a rural Baja sky. I'm sure the kids will appreciate it, too.
I'll have to pack extra marshmellows and hot chocolate, that'll keep most of them up on a sugar rush (the show starts after midnight, for those who didn't read the article).

Another exaple of what makes this board so special. Thanks again.

End of Oct it should be 5th magnitude which means it will be easy naked eye from a non- light polluted location (lots of those in Baja!)
If people have a camera tripod you can get an adapter (very cheap!) to allow for mounting of a pair of binoculars.

sorry David my scopes not the kind that can take the longer exposures needed for that type of object, all I can do is moon/planets. I will post links to some of the better amateur pics taken of Hartley!

Work is now well under way for Equuleus south observatory though! Soon my scopes will have a roof again!
