Seriously, get off the computer and follow his tracks/ direction (if known). Never leave a dog off a leash when you take him to a strange place... Sorry to sound harsh, but we have heard of so many dogs that run away in Baja... Pickles, Inky, etc. Leave out food and water by your trailer if he returns while you are searching.

I would hire 4-5 people. Hand a picture. Have them look for a few days. Cost a few hundred...but you'll get lot of ground covered.

DavidK said to follow the tracks. Do that now! Smart thinking.

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Oh no, Richard! Re post that picture of him. He looks exactly like my Paco.

I am posting Paco's photo. This is what people will be looking for.

Please let us know when you find him. Good Luck!

Still no luck. He was walking at waters edge, so no tracks. He was with my other dog for awhile, but walking Moouse didn't help track him either. It is a very small village and I have flyers in the 2 stores and the tortilla shop and passed out a few. I think the whole village knows I'm looking for a lost dog. Locals have been very friendly. There is a reward and one guy said he would start looking and ask everyone he could, due to the reward. Things sure went downhill, once I left Mulege. sad

There are other local shelters in La Paz, etc.. Just google [name of town] + "animal shelter".

Hope your best friend finds you real soon,

Keep talking with everyone and have lots, and lots of posters for every pole, every wall, etc.,

You might try telling people that you will even pay a reward if they see your dog and take you to him. Because of his size, he may be SUPER friendly, but lots of people might be afraid to approach him.

Will be thinking about you and just hope to hear real soon that he is back safe and sound!

Diana

Hope you find your dog. That's a real downer for sure and I feel for you.

Dogs run with packs...ask around where the local packs go like to the garbage dump, local restaurants to beg etc. The idea of hiring a local is good and if they find him maybe have an agreement whereby he earns double the reward. Incentives work.

He sure is cute. Wishing you the best to find your buddy.

Offer a big enough reward so that if someone saw him and decided to keep him, it would be worth it to him to give Gunner back. Tell every kid you see too. They would be relentless in looking. Maybe they know something already and would be willing to report his whereabouts, for a reward.

Had you set up camp before he went to the beach and disappeared? If he isn't being kept, I would have thought that he would have returned before now. Do you have access to an ATV? Grab a sleeping bag and some food and cover a wide range. Visit ranches too. I understand there are two roads into El Cardonal; one is a dirt road, shorter, and the other is the paved highway. Cover every inch of those roads too.

I'm sure you have thought of all of this but I am trying to think what I would do in your circumstance. And I feel helpless way up here in Northern California.

Best of Luck, Richard!

Tony

Someone will take him in. Offer a reward and somebody will find him. Go as far as La Ribera in trying to find your dog.
