Whenever I have lost a dog I have left an old shirt or something with my scent on it at the last place they were seen. Usually the dog will return to that spot and hang around.

I went to everyone I saw this morning and gave them a flyer. Last night at dusk a fisherman came by and said he saw a black dog with a harness, so that had to be Gunner. This morning a woman said she saw him on the beach and another said something about being with another negro dog in a casa. I've asked the police to look out for him to. I've gone 6 miles out on the paved road and both ends of the beach road. Walked the beach for 3miles in each direction and have been searching all day on the dirt bike. I have a feeling someone is sheltering him or kidnapping him. The town is maybe 300 population and everywhere I go people ask if he has been found. 2 separate local kids volunteered to look and i see them driving all around. I have offered 500 pesos, hope that is enough. But, if he is not back today, new flyers will say 1000 pesos. First flyers didn't mention amt, I just told people. Everyone has been extremely friendly and helpful, especially the fisherman.
Yes, we were camped when he got lost. He is stubborn and will follow anything for miles, but has always come back. He has not adapted to the heat very well, so that has me worried too.
Where is La Ribera? I have gone to the next village, both north and south. Printing more flyers and going back out.

Bad news
A couple came by and said they found Gunner, They spoke no English. I could not tell if they said he was hit by a car or what. I asked that they take me to him. They drove me to the dump. At first I was relieved, as this dog was much bigger, Then I had to look closer, the body was extremely bloated and torn apart. Neutered , same coloring, scrap on leg, I'm 99% sure it is Gunner. It is dark, I will go again tomorrow to make double sure. What a horrible time.

I hope for your sake that it's not Gunner....but if it does turn out to be him, at least you'll have closure rather than never knowing if he's still out there somewhere looking for you. Sorry!

Please don't let your other dog roam free in strange new areas!

What can one say? Let's hope it's not him. Dog's are family.

Cannot tell you how sad this makes us---so very sad. And please be kind to yourself---no matter how much we try to protect our babies, be they human or fur babies, tragedy can and does strike.

Our thoughts are with you in dealing with this loss.
