Mulege fishing trip
I am planning a camping/fishing trip to the Santa Rosalia/Mulege/Loreto area in January. I am flexible on scedule and am looking for travel
companion(s). I would like to remain in Baja for 2 to 4 weeks. Anyone interested in a caravan??

Have you ever boated in this area before.....
....at that time of year? Or, are you going to hire out?
The winds can be mucho gusto (that's Spanglish for very windy) at that time. Go early in the day and fish hard whenever the wind allows.
JR: is that a play on the old joke about the fisherman looking for a girl with a boat?

Mulege trip
I was planning to take a cartopper (13') tin for this trip. Yes, I have been there a couple times before and caution is required. Niel Kelly and Gene
Kira ('Baja Catch')recommend the same boat

Precautions
Just be sure you have a HH radio and a bailing device in case the motor gives you grief.
Oh yeah, and something resembling slickers.

Sactraveler...for a great time in your little tin boat head for San Lucas Cove and campground. You probably know where it is by now...just south a
few miles from Sta. Rosalia and inshore from San Marcos Island. There are 2 good places to launch there and also camp if you like. The cove is
shallow but your boat should have no problems unless during an extreme low tide. The fishing right now is good near San Marcos...just follow a boat.
Use live bait if possible or chuck iron. Yellows there are running 30lbs plus so rig accordingly. Winds are forecast right now, but hopefully by
the time you get there...............muy calma..una lago. Bueno suerte. Check Bouyweather.com for conditions.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Mulege trip
Thanks for the info, Pompano. I planned to explore the river mouth and San lucas Cove because I could remain proximate to shore and still try for
both game and bottom fish. Sounds like I better hurry if the big yellows are in now. Hope to see you there. I'm driving a brown ford 350 diesel van.
