Sally,

I want to add my congratulations to your daughter's recovery. The word, "remission" is a wonderful word indeed! You have lifted up my spirits today!

The advances that medical science has made and is still researching, have vastly improved. Thankfully, more awareness has made for more money donated towards Cancer research; especially Breast Cancer, but in other forms as well.

I will bet that she has maintained a good mental attitude through it all. Yes, the uncertainty is scary, but a positive attitude with humor has proven to make a difference in outcomes.

whistler, Wishing the best for your Mom.She must be a tough woman to be going thru that then and this now.My daughter that you met was Juanita, who lives in Cabo but was a sportfishing captian out of Puerto Escondido, below Loreto. That was quite a few years ago! Her Sis , Maalaea is the one with the battle.(See David K's pic of the two of them in this post) And WOW!! I got a reply from the infamous Neal Johns(many wiw's) and Baja gringo!! Thanks guys! It means a lot to mija and I.

Sally, I hope I see You soon as that means things are going good for You and Your's. If I don't know that I hope the best of luck for you this winter. By the way, where is Juanita these days? Is she still down in Cabo?

Thank you!!!

Hi all of you wonderful Baja friends!!! This is Maalaea, Sally's daughter.. yes the daughter that just kicked breast cancers assssss!!!! I just got done reading all of your well wishes and loving replies and couldn't help but cry... something i do all too easily, especially these days! Thank you all so very much! I've been in remission for only 2 months now, but expect it to last for many years to come. It's been an amazing battle, and an experience that's unexplainable in it's depth. The experience has affected and changed everything that I am. The love and support of my family and my man has been a huge part in my healing process, and so have all of the prayers, good feelings and vibes sent my way. So again.. thank you all for the love! Don't stop spreading the love, it can and does do amazing things... Oh, and Momma... thanks for spreading our wonderful news. I love you!

Maalaea

You are an inspiration to those who also face this crisis in their lives. I have had the privilage of meeting many young women who have overcome this dreaded disease and have lived long, healthy, productive lives.

Iife is so prescious and I know that after my brush with the reaper each day seems like a miracle, and it is!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and to your mom!

P.S.

Ladies, get your mamograms. Mrsfish told all of her female teachers in one of the schools she administered to get their mamograms. Five women in her school came up positive and all were treated and lived long lives after their diagnosis.

I don't know you but congratulations. This news is surely a wish or prayer come true for you. We all have our ups and downs and I am happy your love for your daughter is at a positive time. I have children too and can only imagine your journey. And it's a journey with no emergency spot reporter for help! Best wishes and your news made me smile on this thanksgiving day.

Maalaea and Sally,

This is the best news ever!

I have two close friends (mother and daughter) who have both battled breast cancer. The mom has been cancer free for over 10 years and her daughter for seven years now...

It seems every year huge advances in the treatment of this terrible disease are made...

God bless you both... I will keep you in my prayers...

Linda

PS... Sally... your daughters are BEAUTIFUL!
