RV / camper rental in La Paz?

Hi,

Does anyone know of anybody in or around La Paz that rents any type of camper trailer or RV of any size? I'm looking for a rental of just about 5 days between Christmas and New Year's this winter. Please let me know of any ideas you might have. I haven't posted here before, so not sure if responses will get forwarded to my email. You can contact me directly at orenfrey@gmail.com if you have any knowledge about this.

Thanks much,
Oren

Not that I've ever seen or heard of in over 11 years here in La Paz. This sounds like something you'd have to negotiate with a private party who owns an RV, and to be honest, I personally would be hesitant to hand the keys over to strangers to drive off in an expensive rig....if I still owned one....but that's just me.

What are you planning? To move daily? I think you'd have greater success looking for lodging along your travel route.

I'm going on a Nat. Geographic boat trip with my parents over xmas out of La Paz. I'll have 4 days after that to entertain them before they fly home. Looking to not be in a "resorty" setting. Was planning on just slowly moving around the east cape area and would just be great to have the flexibility to camp in nice places but give them some comfort to make camping accessible to them. I've seen Hacienda del Sol has a couple small pop-up trailers that would be ideal, but I haven't gotten any response from them yet about whether they're available.

I guess another option would be to just rent an apartment in La Paz and do daytrips from there. Any other suggestions?

There is at least one namesake south of Seattle....I believe in the Renton/Auburn, WA.

There are a lot of non-resort type lodgings between La Paz & Cabo....I just can't give you a list because I LIVE here & have a habit of sleeping in my own place.

Hang in there, one of the East Capers will come along eventually!

Amigo, this is high season, esp between Christmas and New Years!! Others are right that there are other small hotels out on the Cape but cuidado, they will fill up pronto. I would suggest you find a small/comfy place in La Paz and use it to stage trips w/ security of not be left out in the cold. Also, nightime temps are cold by that time of year----brrrrrrr 50s but breezy! :o:smug: Tio

greetings orenfrey-

sounds like you have a great trip planned with the NatGeo tour! We saw their boat while swimming with the sea lions....WONDERFUL experience.

While I can't help with the rv thing, I would like to suggest staying Here-
http://villagioturistico.com/

It is in the same neighborhood as Hacienda Del Sol, I've stayed at both and prefer Atillio's Villagio Turistico at the same price as HdS per night, Hac del Sol requires a 1 week rental even if it's less than a week.

Villagio Turistico is out of the city of La Paz (by about 10 minutes) and a world away...Great casitas with King beds, onsite dining cooked by Attilio... swimming pool will probably be drained at the time you will be there....

If you were planning on renting an RV, then a car rental with a hotel or room rental might be in your budget plans also. Most of BCS is do-able on a day trip from La Paz, or stay in La Paz for a couple days and then a night in east cape and a night in todos santos. Lots of options.

Have a great time! Take lots of pictures and post a trip log when you get back if you feel so inclined.
