Thanksgiving Day - Baja Road

An odd occurence...on this nice straight stretch of the Baja Road....I met one cyclist northbound and one southbound in the same spot. A first for me.

I hugged the center line and we all survived. ;)

GOOD AND BAD HIGHWAYS FOR BICYCLISTS

Over this last summer's road trip, we encountered bicyclists everywhere...on nice wide modern highways. Some had designated bike lanes, and almost all had wide shoulders that can be utilized by cyclists...

...and pedestrians.

Bikes are great for ferry trips...as to and from Whidbey Island, Wash.

And sometimes the rig is just too wide for a bike..or anything!.. to make it past safely...

Good luck fishing, chum...

Baja Highway 1 does NOT fall into that category. It is foolhardy and dangerous to make this trip.

That Bike-Lane down here would be the new passing lane. :O
