Not rushing into anything
Hola everyone. I just thought I would let those of you who were expecting to see me before now that I have been sick and confined to my van since New
Years.
I finally got enough energy to go get some medicine in Los Barriles which is where I am now. Sitting in air conditioning! Yikes!!
Anyways, sorry for the delays but if the medicine works, I will be looking everyone up as soon as there is no danger of spreading this nightmare flu
around.
Happy New Year.

There must be a hundred folks waiting anxiously at the border for the call to bring you Lomatil.
We'll be there, watching where we step!
Hope you recover soon.

Glad you are feeling better JR.

Ahhh, Spam.
My SO, the Growling Gabacho, who was raised in Hawaii, assures me that there is nothing better for dinner than...
a can of Spam heated on the manifold of the sailboat's engine after being strapped to the wheel while sailing through several days of 130+ mph winds
due to a southern Asian seas storm (clothing not even optional, it was stripped off).
The wife that was along for that ride was quickly jettisoned after reaching port because she put the can on the manifold unopened.
Divorcilarity quickly ensued

Thanks you guys
but you got it all wrong. It's not that kinda sick, it's flu, cold, pneumonia or death like sick.
But today, I am feeling better. I tried to get Vicks or some such thing in Los Barriles but to no avail. So, I was getting worse so my neighbors
stepped in and did some doctorin.
I was basically just eating fruit and it wasn't enough so they changed my diet for me. They started by bringing me some "Quina", a bark off a local
tree which I assume is quinine or something. It tastes like what I would imagine rust to taste like but whithin 5 minutes of chewing some, the lungs
are clearing themselves out. It's supposed to be better in a tea but just chewing it worked fine, despite the taste.
Then came the hot soups, tortillas, and comida real that would fix almost any ailment. The road to recovery.
Yesterday, the guys from Vizcaino who helped me drive the truck to Insurgentes called and they have it too. As well as a whole bunch of other folks
scattered around down here.
I think the weather has been changing from warm to cold so much that it is affecting everyone negatively.
One thing for sure, I sure got a beginning of the year body cleaning!
I will be putting pictures and info about all the local medicines I have learned about in the BSAR information booklet.
These are the cures that the phamacies don't want you to know about.
