Not to be nit-picky, but it is on Hidalgo.
At the corner of Independecia, Salvatierra runs straight east. It is the street that the tourist shops and the mision are on. Also running east from
Independencia is Hidalgo, which curves just a little to the south. Hotels Junipero and Plaza Loreto are on Hidalgo, not Savatierra. The new McLulu's
is in the old Don Pepe's, right across the street from her old place. Although the new place is a bit less picturesque, I'd sure rather run a
restaurant out of a real building, myself

Fred is doing good these days.. Just had a hip replacement this year..Hoping to be down to his house in the Spring..

I visited Lulu's recently, undercover with some pensioners, I sat quietly while my friends shopped and I waited for them to eat tacos together, I
noticed that she charges people vastly different prices depending I guess on what she thinks you can pay, with the average prices then at about 17
pesos per fish taco, 20 for pensioners or 2 dollars each, 10 pesos for friends. The condiments looked quite scary covered in herds of flies and the
fish soggy, heavily battered and deep fried too. Considering all the options for fresh healthy fish tacos in Baja I personally would skip this option.

Let's see your photos gnu... I took some (above) in the middle of summer and flies were not an issue... prices were fair... we would go back.

Just for the record if you want a Good hamburger at Night, go to the Plaza and right across the Street will be a small Taco Stand. The Young man
runing it is somewhat diabled but he and his Mother have been putting out hamburgers there for many years only at night.

More on Lulu's........
All this talk about Lulu"s got me to digging in the shoe box for some old pix when we were sailing around Mexican waters. We'd anchor off the malecon
and row the dindy ashore just for a "Lulu Hit" as we called it. Photo of 1997
This pix is of 1983, white shoes and all, when she was on the south side of the street. What a piece of history she is-
Things are expensive, but at least we get a free trip around the sun once a year
